So wondering what kind of infection causes a rotting flesh smell. It is located in the under belly and belly button as well as infected cysts in the goin area from ingrown hairs. The first one been on antifungal ointment, antibiotics, and I have had this for almost a year. Also it is on my surgical scar from hip to hip which I have had nothing but problems with for 5 yrs now. My doctor isn't helping much.

If someone was treating solar keratosis with 5-Fluorouracil cream could that result in a spreading pink trail and blistering and itching all along the pink trail? So does 5-Fluorouracil react with fungus infections? Or only with skin cancer?

I figure it's gone already, but just in case... Treating fungal infections directly with antifungals is the best bet, along with proactively minimizing risk factors like the ones mentioned in this video(keeping parts of the body in warm, wet places). Each symptom should alleviate with the death of your infection. But if it ever crossed your mind to get hydrocortisone for itch-relief, don't! Steroids blow up fungal infections big time and the itch will only worsen

Shampoo with over the counter nizoral a few times a week lather on your face too. Apply lotrimin to any other areas to kill candida quickly. Cut down on your sugar until your better.
