Microsoft really made a great move by pulling all of these features together into a "single" web interface, and the way the different features work together is excellent. Microsoft was falling behind a little bit on data virtualization and ecosystem, compared to Snowflake, AWS, GCP, and now it looks like they just shot passed the competition.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! Fabric came as a tsunami of capabilities and there's so much to learn. It's exciting but it also can be overwhelming.

Aye, I'm excited to stumble upon this channel! This will be a killer resource. Would you work on your sound quality, though? Your audio has a terrible echo that makes this really tough to listen to and understand with clarity.

Hi Patrick, it would be great to see we should manage all of the data once we get it into OneLake. Purview seems to be the natural tool needed but I haven't seen much about since Fabric was launched. The idea of this data just floating around in peoples OneLake drives without some strong governance worries me. I love the idea just not sure how to implement it for SME's.

Quick question. If we move our stuff to the OneLake in form of delta/parquet , traditionally we used Azure Serverless Synapse to query data from the datalake (as views). Would it still be possible to "manage" the data as views in SSMS ?

Does anybody know how to fix the syncing? I download and at the first hurdle my workspace doesn't fill up with the folders etc.

Still trying but cannot see any contents yet on my local machine. Not sure what is a miss.

Tenant admins can restrict access to OneLake file explorer for their organization in the Microsoft Fabric admin portal. When the setting is disabled, no one in your organization will be able to start the OneLake file explorer app. If the application is already running and the tenant admin disabled the setting, the application exits. Placeholders and any downloaded content remain on the local machine, but the user will not be able to sync data to or from OneLake.
