Alprozolam(Xanax) has always worked in the past for me so I don’t know why they didn’t put me back on that. Because I had no negative side effects from it and impacted me quality of life greatly

I have partial onset dejavu seizures that sometimes lead to an actual seizure, it happens to me around once every 6 months and I just got prescribed for keppra and I’m really hoping it works, will do anything to never have that feeling again, worse feeling in my life

I know it’s been 2 years since this comment but I actually have a similar thing currently happening to me with the dejavu seizures. I got a full on unconscious seizure and was prescribed this. Did you find it to help you at all?

And also I’ve tried to find answers everywhere but never found a full on answer about the dejavu seizures. Any information you know about what may cause them? If not I understand I don’t expect you to be an expert but I’m curious from someone who has experienced something similar

I've been on Keppra for many years I 2019 when I did my EEG they stopped my Keppra to trigger seizures which led to tonic clonic seizures which I hadn't had in years shame I have to stay on this to improve seizure severity and frequency I have suffered lots of side effects that you mentioned my suicidal ideation was worse on high dose of Perampanel. It has improved now but still get down times

We have many choices for epilepsy treatment that does not have psychiatric side effects... I explained all the antiseizure medications in another video.. You can see it and discuss it with your doctor.. Also depression in epilepsy

Ok so I have catamenial epilepsy and I started on Tegretol cr which gave me lupus however I needed another med to stop the seizures and keppra came on board. When I started keppra I noticed how angry I would get and easily angry , it didn’t take long to be mad and I felt angry like I wanted to do damage etc however since I started ketogenic diet I have very little anger issues , my keppra went from 1000mg twice a day to 1250 mg twice a day and I stopped Tegretol cause of lupus and am using propranolol hydrochloride . I also take vit B and frisium 10 mg , however since doing ketogenic and stopping carbohydrates and all sugars I am very calm and less angry . I don’t know if I’m fully doing ketosis right but it has lessened my seizures and kept them under control and I’ve been more at ease and content

I think it is very wrong that when prescribing keppra that blood work is not carried out for children especially if there is problems with their P450 detox drug from liver and kidneys. been on drug 4 years have spasms and no blood work

Doc - Thank you so much for the terrific info. My doc is Dr. Sami Aboumatar in Austin. My Q: How do I know what is pharmaceutically induced “rage” and “depression” and how much is just me? My doc always suggests antidepressants if I want which I am always decline! Hate them! I’m on Keppra 500 + zonisamide 300 to treat JME. Zero circadian rhythm, always exhausted, cannot lose weight despite calorie restriction and exercise. I’m seizure free..but always searching for words since on this cocktail. Do these meds effect diction, vocabulary and cognition?

My son at age 8 had absent seizures,staring blank,then became sweaty. No medication given. Now age 15 has tonic clonic seizures every 6-8 weeks,especially a day or so after some exciting event. Keppra started at 250mg bd. But even with a fraction of one dose he developed increased frequency of soft stools. Medication was stopped. What medication do you suggest. Thank you.

Keppra make me crazy and Anxiety 1500 mg daily but i met other doctor add Lamotrigine 800mlg daily to balance the side effects of the keppra! The medication is very expensive….

Have they tried anything else since than that has worked? I had another seizure about a week and a half ago and they put me on keppra at the hospital and it makes me feel absolutely terrible. Usually they put me on Xanax and it would help so much

Better to avoid it because it can worsen anxiety but you should discuss it with your doctor if your anxiety is bad enough or at least to stay watching carefully

I don’t really know what I was diagnosed with like 6 ish years ago doctor said it was a slight form of epilepsy, ( whenever I closed my eyes, when I try to sleep or even when I was in class and teachers would say close your eyes even for a couple seconds if I wasn’t focused fully on my breathing I would get a little tremble like a little shake, it really affected me when I was sleeping but I didn’t saw anything until a day my mom was sleeping with me a couple years later when we moved and a doctor saw me ) I was put on Keppra it works but I’ve noticed self things on myself I don’t know if this was even the right drug for me also idk if there are better prescriptions I could be put on if anyone could help 😅 thnx ❤

I have been just started on Keppra 1500mg daily. Was taken off OXCARB because of severe skin reactions. The only major side effects is discomfort of lightheaded/ dizziness it has just been 5 days. I hope it goes away after a few weeks. It could be because I’ve been put on a high dose too quickly because at times I am feeling better.?

The dr said not to worry My doc reduced med from 1500 mg daily to 1000mg daily. Follow up after a month. how can I regain weight. ?

Please, add extreme nausea and intestine motility, colics, diarrhea and noise. I have to spend days in bed each time I increase the dose by 1/8 of the 500mg pill. I am now on 850mg daily. Can't tollerate further increase. It was given to me for auras only.
