It was shot near El Centro. Pitt had just finished Thelma and Louise and RSA prod offered Brad up for the casting to tie in with the film release. I remember Pitt as being a very sensitive young man, who was wondering what he was doing there, shooting this commercial. The model was Brazilian as I remember and she was rather eager to get as close as she could to him. He was not at ease at all with all the dancing around and touching. He spent most of the shoot alone. It was rather touching really. The DOP was famous but I can't remember his name.

Brad was clearly blessed with great looks and talent and now wealth. This must make him a female's dream catch. I can imagine Levi's sales must have shot up after this commercial just like it did throughout the world when they used the very good looking British model/singer, Nick Kamen, in a famous 1986 Levi's commercial played to Marvin Gaye's, "I heard it through the grapevine". It's quite similar to this commercial although it was made earlier, and you can see it on KZbin.

Yes, it was the perfect time for emotions. I feel so lucky to have gotten so much vibe in my teenage years. That stuff really shaped me, and it comes in very handy now in these intense times. It lifts the spirit up, to fight for what is right and beautiful.

This commercial was a real turning point in Brads career, off the back of it he got to audition for the T.V movie "Too young to die" which he was cast as the main antagonist, that casting got him the role in Thelma and Louise and if you're a Gen X'er you'll know that role was the start of Brads leading man movie star career and he hasn't looked back since.
