Well handled but not a win for the pilot. This will forever be on his record as an "incident" which is a red flag regardless of how it was handled. Naturally it can be spun into a good thing because there is video and you're correct, he handled this very well, however it will still remain as something he will have to explain time and time again if he works in the field of aviation. Kudos to that pilot though, because dealing with helicopter crashes is significantly harder than a plane crash. One likes to fly, the other is a stone with some propellers attached to it.

Hate dog owners like this, they expect a person on the street to react as though they know the dog and fully trust it the same way the owner does, and just because the dog doesn't bite the owner, that's not to say it's not going to bite a delivery person.

Most dogs are not attacking you with the intention to actually injure or kill you. They want to scare you away. Do not ever take this for granted by any means, the chance of getting seriously injured or even killed is too high, but the majority of dogs will not go past barking and warning bites. Unfortunately for them and the people on the receiving end, they don't understand that a warning bite is suicide.

Gas pressure, sheet metal can bend rather easily. The overpressure did not break the door lock, hinges or any hight strength steel parts. Also if it had been a 'high explosive' explosion there would have been much more shrapnel. He quaranteed will have ruptured ear drums and tinnitus for long a time but most likely nothing else.

@@direflyer You can't leave the ground on one magneto, it's illegal to fly with only one magneto getting power, that's why there is two of them, just in case one fails in flight and this guy failed to turn on both magneto's. I don't fly helicopters i only fly fixed wing single engine piston aircraft, but it's exactly same thing you cannot leave the ground with your ignition on only one magneto. Before takeoff you have to do a run up to make sure both magneto's are providing power, first you try one mag and see if the engine is still running than you switch to the other and see if it's still running, than you turn the ignition to both to get full power on the engine and only than you can take off. He failed to turn his ignition to both magneto's, if he had done that there would be no fail because there would be no engine failure. That's a huge fail on the pilot. If i flew a commercial aircraft and failed to turn on both magneto's and took off and crashed and killed the passengers because I didn't turn power on to both magneto's i would be going to prison for my failure. Plus with only one magneto the engine won't work properly you only get 70 to 80% of the power and there is a chance the magneto will burn up because instead of two magneto's sharing the load all the load goes to only one magneto which will overheat and fail if you keep flying for a longer time. That's why if you have one magneto fail, you must get on the ground ASAP before you burn up the other magneto. Wow calling this not a fail is just mind blowing.
