I lived on Wood Street, and worked at the Library. I am now 72 and exploring in my RV. It was a great place at one time! Make more videos.

Please. The Tree Of Life is brilliant. Not to say that I don't love Hillcoat, because I adore him, but Malick is the godfather of this style. And he still owns it. I will say, Hillcoat is definitely a VERY close successor for this style, because MY GOD is this a great piece

I love this commercial because of the music and the visuals--a clear homage to Terrence Malick, I'd say. It's beautiful. John Hillcoat (The Road) is a talented filmmaker. I almost ignore the fact it has anything to do with a company. lol

@FilmsUndecided It's from Wagner's Das Rheinhold, the "Vorspiel." Used to wonderful effect in Malick's The New World

It's the consumer choice to buy into the ad campaign. Why can't these videos turn into a discussion of the awesome video and appreciation for the poem set to a video depicting exactly what the author's would envision?

Hermann Levi (1839-1900) . . . Close friend to Wagner, as was Heinrich Porges . . . Didn't Levi conduct the first full Ring Cycle at Bayreuth? And the first Parsifal as well, until Maestro took the podium and snatched the baton from his hand? I admit it, my love for Levi's IS IS IS IS (at times) positively Wagnerian. . . . GO FORTH!!!!

@tylerdegraaf Green copies off Malick as well, and has stated as much. There is nothing new under the sun anymore, unless it begins with Malick. Give props where they're do, brother.

Althis talk about Wagner is rather funny, considering that Germany is currently over run by enemy foreigners…. And Wagner was a musician, Levi Strauss was a poor immigrant and did not know him. Wagner was not an anti semite, simply a man proud of his own heriitage. He was born along time before the Nazi Party was a big item. He had nothing to do with them. They simply used his music for their own ends.

In the 90's I proudly wore Levi's a Chuck Taylors because they were made in the USA. The quality has diminished while the price has gone up dramatically for a pair of Levi's jeans and a pair of chucks. I no longer wear either product. I buy all my clothing made in the USA. Globalization is a dumb idea unless you're a multi national corporation who can exploit the meek and poor.

That's two times you corporate A-holes have ripped off Malick with your Levi's ads! You're lucky he lives under a hole and doesn't watch TV, otherwise he'd probably sue you for ripping off New World and Thin Red Line.
