This is by far the most well themed rollercoaster Australia has ever produced besides Superman Escape. It's also the best themeing I've seen on any Australian ride since Bermuda Triangle which closed in 2010 and is where Storm Coaster is now.

Went on this last week and holy hell, what an intense experience! It really is non stop action from start to finish and it reminded me why I've missed (proper) wooden coasters so bad ever since my childhood park Australia's Wonderland closed, taking Beast with it.

This is my favourite coaster and it's exactly what Sea World Aus needed. So fast paced and intense. The way it bobs and weaves through itself all low to the ground makes it feel so fierce. It's been interesting to hear what Queensland locals think of a wooden coaster, I've heard some interesting and funny takes waiting in line😅. I'm really glad you liked it Taylor.

I say all the time, theming shouldn't make or break coasters for people. That being said, this theming makes this ride the Velocicoaster of Australia and makes me wish more rides were this well thought out.

I much prefer Gravity Groups over GCIs. Rides like Hades and Mine blower are very intense, have good airtime and pacing, and have that Gravity Group put of control feeling. I think that roughness adds to the out of control feeling.

Thanks for the review! It was great to meet you both the day you were there :-) so glad you like our new Aussi ride as much as I do! And yes, shame about the ops being so slow. T2Z was chewing through the line - so many things they could make faster on Leviathan ops without affecting safety

I rode leviathan (both forward, ride 1 and backward, ride 2) on day 2 of opening. It was my first wooden coaster so I have nothing to compare to but man. The ride experience was amazing. It was just long enough that you wonder if it will ever end, but not too long that it you gonna get bruises coming off it. That said, as far as I can tell, they have actually reprogrammed the ride since opening. The ride opened with two trains operating and an op actually told me the ride system prefers having two trains on the track. I have seen two trains op only during the opening month and one of the two school holidays we've had here in Australia since December 2022. Not sure if B train is having trouble or the reprogramming borked the two train operation, but it is a shame they are chronically running single train. (That and it is also VRTP, so that's that.) I know Sea World do extensive inspections for two weeks every 3 months - which is actually listed on the maintenance schedule - for leviathan. Which is good to see. I have yet to experience the pre-cut track, but I wonder if they will replace some section with it, especially the turn around over the queue which is arguably the only rough-ish spot, down the track. Great review. Although i cant put a finger on DC vs Leviathan. They are both my number 1, just in different category ;)

100% best roller coaster I’ve ever been on. They recently added a second vehicle and the lines move super fast now - I rode twice in under an hour in the middle of school holidays, so the busiest time of year. The ride lasts for a good couple minutes, so it makes it well worth waiting for. It occasionally derails, but they always have it back up and running in under 45 minutes and it’s completely safe. Honestly, if you’re at the Gold Coast on holidays and you’re considering going to a theme park, go to SeaWorld.

I'm so confused about the airtime. Canobie coaster says every hill gives floater airtime on Leviathan and still prefers DC rivals, but both in CS say that Leviathan gives ejector in almost every hill, and they prefer this over DC Rivals. I respect opinions, but I'm confused about perceptions of airtime. Does this really have ejector or does it have floater
@CoasterStudios
@CoasterStudios Жыл бұрын
it has both- as I mentioned in the video, the big airtime hill over the drop gives floater air. Everything else is ejector.

@@CoasterStudios and it's not just that, Airtime thrills says that the drop in the back row in Kingdaka and Ttd is one of the strongest airtime moments in the US, but most people say the twist removes the airtime. I like to call this the airtime paradox
@Marty_NZ
@Marty_NZ Жыл бұрын
@@sr.chi7741 I'd like to chime in on this topic as I also called out Canobie Coaster on his floater/non ejector comments in his review. You'll find my comment there questioning him. I suspect he caught it on a slow day based on his off ride footage. I've had well over 30 rides on it now over two separate visits (5 separate days) (he had 6 rides over a few hours, so take his view with a grain of salt). Some hills, if not most, are definitely ejector. It's almost a flawless ride in my opinion.

I gotta say it, just because you repeated it many many times in this video... Tonnerre 2 Zeus is a pun on the original Tonnerre de Zeus. The number 2 in French is "deux," which is pronounced similarly enough to "de" (with the vowel sound like the oo in book or took), so that they can get away with the new name sounding almost exactly like the original. So just go ahead and pronounce the full French name without the English "two." It's easier! 🙂 (Unless you knew that already and say it on purpose for the rest of us.)

The backwards seat used to be $15 when dc rivals first opened but the company has slowly upped the price I think it peaked at $30 and has now ended up at $25 for both parks I don’t know if you have ever ridden what was lethal weapon then Arkham asylum at movieworld but since it closed none of the coasters have been able to scratch the itch it did until leviathan opened its also amazing after dark definitely recommend going to a night event to be able to go on it

I much prefer DC Ricvals to Leviathan. I have a feeling the reason you like Leviathan more is because the hype (caused by people who hadn’t even been on it) made you have really high expectations for DC Rivals where as Leviathan had nowhere near the hype so much easier to exceed expectations. I had good expectations for both and therefore loved both but still prefer DC Rivals. I learnt not to listen to hype from others because when I rode Wicker Man at Alton Towers I had high expectations but turned out to be boring for me and I had no enjoyment and I rode it within the first 2 months of opening.
@Marty_NZ
@Marty_NZ Жыл бұрын
You are definitely correct on the overhype of DC Rivals by people that's never experienced it. I've been arguing that point for a few years now. Even though Leviathan doesn't have a hype around it yet, hence little to no expectation, I still feel it's the better coaster. Sometimes I even feel Superman Escape is the more thrilling coaster compared to DC Rivals. The Issue with DC Rivals is it's a semi mediocre hyper coaster compared to others around the world. Compare Leviathan with other wooden coasters around the world and it's actually quite special.
@donoakes85
@donoakes85 Жыл бұрын
@@Marty_NZ 100% right. Superman Escape is great, where it falls short for me is the length. If it were longer I would prefer it over DC. I think why I like DC is the ejector air you get in the front but yes I have been on more enjoyable Hypers eg I prefer Behemoth at Canada’s Wonderland.
@Marty_NZ
@Marty_NZ Жыл бұрын
@@donoakes85 I'm yet to visit Canadas Wonderland, but have done all the B&M Hypers in USA and then also Silver Star at Europa Park. I've heard Behemoth is quite good though, possibly best in the park, beating out their own Leviathan. A few of those B&M Hypers are quite a bit better than DC Rivals for me, yet they hardly would feature on anyone's hype list. I think those B&M clamshell restraints are just so much better than the Mack's too.
