This was so inspiring. I'm the current super heavyweight state champion in Minnesota, where Lupkes lives. This is truly one of the best things I've ever listened to. This is an amazing sport. I can't ever hope to achieve anything close to what Lupkes has in his career, but it's just great to hear stories from such a humble Minnesota legend. At 29 years old it's good to know that this sport that I love so much could be in my life for many years to come. Cheers to Neil for having Lupkes on. Great interview indeed!

For all the fan-boys of the cheats and loudmouths of armwresting, here in Mr. Lupkes is someone who is deserving of respect for his humility along with his abilities and strength. If seated armwrestling would have continued till today you'd still be talking about Richard, but a lot of todays armwrestlers would never be heard of!

Richard is an ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!! I feel that table time isnt as important if you already have years of armwrestleing experience and understand how to transfer strength/power to the table... Like yes it is very important still but lets say starting off its like a 90/10 table time to standard gym strength training, after 10-15 years of armwrestling you could drop table tome to 40 and do 60 standard gym training...

21:34 is there actually one Top 10 armwrestler at any point in time that John hasn't lost to? Of course he also has wins on everybody, but he also has losses to what must be dozens of people, even during what everyone considers his prime.
@aaronrus4 жыл бұрын
I wish Andre the Giant had taken up arm wrestling, you could pass a silver dollar through his ring. His hands were cast in bronze and measured by a famous hand surgeon in Texas , 10 3/4” from wrist to tip of the middle finger, and fingers literally as thick as bananas. He would have been a natural because of his enormous frame and massive bones. It was said that he could crush an apple with his bare hands.

The only pro armwrestler that doesn't train on the table ever that I know of is, geof Dale. He's a trucker and grew up on a farm I believe aswell. But said on jujimufus video that he never ever trains on the table with anyone. Just trains at tournaments. And doesn't even lift weights other than alittle bit in his truck I believe he said. But I've never heard of anyone so dominating as Sir Lupkes to never have any table practice time. Crazy what genetics, a gym, a farm, and fresh eggs can do for a viking.
