My husband & I visited Hocking Hills last summer. It is such a beautiful area to see. All of the parks were free to visit & park at. There are so many trails to explore. We decided to stay in Columbus, instead of the nearby town, because we only spent 1 day in Hocking Hills & wanted to do other things. If you want peace & quiet & just enjoy being in nature, then stay in Hocking Hills.

Yes, it's absolutely gorgeous! However, I can't stand the wasted 2nd hallway space (probably 3'x45') on the other side. If I had a builder do a similar cabin, I'd use standard 6' wide French doors on the front, eliminate the 2nd hallway entirely, and use a sink big enough to wash dishes in. This is great for a weekend rental, but not practical for daily living. Thanks for the tour of this gorgeous space❣️

I absolutely love it! 😍 I would make the area behind the stove a walkin pantry with stackable washer/dryer and make a privacy room for the toilet the same size as the shower for symmetry. I would make a bed with storage underneath. All the window and doors makes it feel large. I love all the decks leading outside.

Yes, bigger sink for sure, extra hallway adds ease of transit. I dont hate it, but it will add expense. Its very picturesque, but if the hallway was closed off you could have a smaller door to the porch and put the bed against the wall. Just sayin.

This cabin is made only for show. It's not for living in. Notice there is no cabinet space in the kitchen? Notice how the bedroom is bigger than a living room? Noticed all the wasted Space by having two hallways? And the massive entry doors on such a tiny wall just looks so out of place.

Really pretty house. Totally photogenic. Do I want to live with two hallways to the same bedroom? - Are you kidding? Clear glass French doors in a bathroom where you can also see the crapper from the entrance door? - Are you kidding? You have to go through my bedroom and bathroom to get to the rear deck and hot tub? Are you kidding? A 30 inch range and giant fridge for a two person house? And the cutest kitchen sink I've ever seen. A really beautiful house but let's live in it for a month and see what you think.

As someone planning to build a tiny home for myself, as a primary residence, I really like this one. The only thing I don't like is the dual hallways on the side. I imagine it creates a more open feel, but would be a waste of space for me. I'm thinking something in the 600sqft range, with more covered outdoor living spaces

A friend of mine bought an old Mill village house in South Carolina. In 700 square feet she has a decent living room, eat in kitchen, 2 bedrooms of a good size, and a full bathroom, including full sized tub. The key is that there are almost zero corridors. There is a central atrium type deal that all but the bathroom come off of. Also has 3 fireplaces plus a flue for the kitchen range. Built before furnaces were common there. Wisely used, it takes a surprisingly small footprint to design a comfortable home.

I love the idea of this house. As someone who’s considering a tiny house in the next year or two, there are a few things I’d change to make this a functional, long term/permanent residence. 1. Kill one of the hallways & make it a U-shaped kitchen. This gives you much more counter/cabinet space in the same, small footprint. It also allows for a bigger closet on the backside of the wall, in the bedroom. 2. Take out one of the French doors in the bedroom & put the bed up against the wall. 3. The nook for the wardrobe is nice, but it takes space away from the shower. I’d put a water closet where the shower is; move the bathroom door a little and put the shower where the toilet is.

@olgahapitan312 As a current Floridian and former resident in Michigan, I too had no idea of such a cool spot. I can only partially imagine how awesome this spot must be in the fall. I so miss all the riotous colors of fall that we so infrequently get to see here in central Florida. I also miss seeing a LIGHT covering of snow on Christmas morning. The rest of the time I'm super happy not to have to deal with it. This would be an ideal place to escape to from the blistering hot summers here. With all thise trees and water in the area, I imagine it would be quite a bit cooler than here. I have to agree with you about the double hallway. I'm not sure what purpose it served since only one hall was shown. I would push the hallway shown over to make the hallway wider for wheelchair access. And I would have the bathroom tucked behind the kitchen and pantry area with a washer/dryer stackable. The kitchen is pretty cool, but I think the stove and sink areas should be swapped. That way the fridge could be moved way over into where the second hall is creating more counter/prep space by the sink with a pullout pantry storage space between the fridge and wall. Having the sink swapped to where the stove is would cut plumbing costs since the bathroom and kitchen would have all the plumbing in one spot. Ir would free up the island to have it be moveable since you could have two burners (induction and/or solar) in a drawer thus having the island moveable. The eating spot could be on hinges and be let down when staging it as a bar or buffet inside or out on the deck. With very few tweaks, this could be an ideal floor plan for someone in a wheelchair or someone wanting a first floor bedroom and bathroom area. Levi didn't say whether the couch had storage or not and if was also a sleeper sofa, but that would be a way to not need a loft area at all. I like the overall footprint of this home and with very few interior tweaks to make it even better, this goes in my folder of top plans that are practical for someone in a wheelchair. TFS this Levi. You got a new subbie..

Nice work Justin! The detailed description was excellent, Levi! In the tour I found it interesting that the rounded arch shape was created and repeated through the entire home from the kitchen prep surface to the arched wardrobe to the cushioned cover and hot tub shape. The custom cabinet in the living room had a double-arched face to match the arch-framed mirror in the passageway to the bedroom after the pantry. Even the kitchen utensil holder is an exact copy of the hot tub shape. The bathroom sink and soap holder are the final design features that mimic the twin swings and the hot tub's curves.

I missed what the dimensions were.

The property and environs are spectacular. Love the feel of the cabin, the design of the fridge, and the bed. In fact, I have virtually that same bed, designed by an ex-boyfriend 30 years ago, and I still love it. It does feel more spacious than its 450 square feet. No bathtub, but that's offset by the hot tub right outside the door. Cons: no dishwasher, meaning the dishes would all have to be done and put away right away, or you'd always be looking at dirty dishes. Sink very small for dishes and other uses. No room for even one bedside table. That would drive me nuts too.
@ecoluxevacations

Hi Jay, we did incorporate the ottomans at each bedside to act as tables. These can be slid in and and out as needed. I ensure each bed in our rentals has a bedside spot to place reading material, glasses, phones, etc. There is also an outlet under the bed with a cord to each side for charging devices. The sink is small, but functions well. I have washed every pan and baking sheet in it. Based on comments here, I think the sink must appear smaller in the video than it actual is and the halls must appear bigger. The "halls" are only 3' wide x about 3' long. There is a closet there, so it is the depth of the closet plus framing and sheetrock.

Thank you! The sink functions pretty well - we have washed skillets, baking sheets and more in it with no issues. That being said, this is a vacation rental primarily rented for 1-3 night stays for just two people so there's not a lot of dishwashing that takes place.

I've watched tiny house vids for years ... this is definately one of the best designed. Its a bigger than the typical tiny house you build on a trailer which makes it more livable. I've always believed that you don't have to limit yourself to the trailer template, just create a smaller and more affordable one than traditional homes. Well done.

I really enjoy your videos and i'm looking forward to the next one. I appreciate how your work has helped drive business to Central Ohio. A small detail though: During your Hocking Hills feature at the end, you noted how the water in Old Man's Cave looked like the perfect swimming hole. It's important to remember that swimming and wading aren't permitted in the streams and waterfalls of Hocking Hills State Park. Othersise, keep up the great work!

Coming back to this video to say how much I appreciate that the builders have chosen to add light-blocking window treatments to what looks like all of the windows in the living area. This is such an underrated and rare feature it seems. Window treatments allow the guest to have control over the light filtering into the home and feel a sense of privacy and security. If I am still thinking about this place a month later, I think we need to book a trip!

I got to be honest. Almost all European tiny houses are around 450 sq ft. Not one of them has this layout because it is not optimal. Centrally placed kitchen takes up too much space, two corridors are a waste and 4 wooden and glass double doors are complete waste of energy.

I love the layout, minus so many double doors, and the 2 hallways. I'd rather my bedroom feel more enclosed. I don't like a door leading outside from my bedroom onto a tiny deck. I'd be satisfied with a matching large window there, and having the door leading off the bathroom to the back deck. And not having one of the halls would give an extra bit of wallspace, so there is a place to have more kitchen storage, or maybe a coffee bar.
