I show your videos to my students. I teach an aeronautics STEAM class, where my students mostly make fixed winged aircrafts and some drones. I have a few students who’ve become big fans of your work and your levitator (and chAIR…but I have to keep telling them “no, we cannot build one for school”). 😂

@@mrgw98 Oh no, we build and fly drones and planes. Just this past week one of my students maiden a gps drone he’s been working on for a while. We mostly make the Flite Test style airplanes. For this winter, since our weather has been so lousy for flying outside, students have made land skimmers and race them in our gymnasium. I encourage the students to do things like that and be creative. I recently purchased an Ardupilot and I’m hoping to have some of my students explore autonomous flights. What I will not allow them to make is something that could potentially lift or pull a person with the propellers. There is an acceptable amount of risk in this class ( mostly knife cuts and glue gun burns). A couple of years ago, a propeller broke while a student was racing her skimmer in the gym and a fragment hit her near her eye. I heard from her parents for a few days straight. 🙄I told my admin that if they are this concerned, then have her removed from my class. While they are at it, perhaps have her removed from shop class and VoAg. We spend several days just going over safety and constantly reminding to remove props and batteries. Yet, something that could lift a person would be exciting and the only way my admin would allow it was if there was a dummy/analog. Now the Levitator, that could be possible, if we had the material (and time). My students were coming up with some potential ideas of how that could be used. I like to see them get inspired and who knows what that seed of an idea would grow into.

@@amazingdiyprojects thank you 😊. I understand that we can't always spend as much time as we would like on these projects. They are of course mainly a hobby, certainly is for me anyway. The dream of being paid well enough to just build cool stuff is hard to achieve but not impossible. People will wait years if need be between videos, it takes as long as it takes.

Maybe 8 wings with eight smaller motors. Maybe props on both ends of the motors....maybe carbon fiber wings instead of aluminum....

i guess what im wondering is are the truss wires more efficient structurally in such a way that makes the aerodynamic inefficiency worth it. wouldnt you be better served with a non-braced rotor, even if it is heavier? also, you could put your batteries in the rotor blades to reduce the stress at the hub, if you could make a low-friction power-transfer bearing between the blades and the hub

Great Progress - Interesting how much of the structure one could see in the dark with the added contrast . Now the system is able to Loiter - how much advantage would there be if one could update the flight parameters (literally) "on the fly" via a separate processor and RF link? - Could also be a way of gaining real time telemetry to a PC as to the system behaviour. you can use auto-gyro to stabilize a conventional helicopter (horizontal and/or vertical spin gyro discs), just like in a drone or auto-gyro helicopter

diy 50/50 water-ethanol koh for zinc/iron-air fuel cells with carbon felt air electrode works nicely, and is also freeze proof, treat the fuel cell like an engine, dont count that towards the energy storage rating, around 2kWh/kg for iron and zinc is at 1.2kWh/kg, just have the electrolyte-koh topped up and feed more metal to fly more, from a spool, can use magnesium and aluminium and tin, with higher energy storage rating 6-8kWh/kg

Unsure if you have discussed it before is there a benefit from a rounded wing tip shape, I know it's what some seeds use. I suppose an eventual upgrade would be carbon tubes for the wing structure with obvious weight/strength advantages.

Hi I really enjoy all your videos I appreciate the time you put in to get all the camera angles to show us your inventions being tested. I have a question on the stationary position that the craft is maintaining the question came to mind how is it that the craft can maintain a stationary position if the Earth is moving underneath it at 1000 mph! Are you providing any inputs to compensate for this?
