Hello sir! I've got a question ... I want to buy an air purifier (my first one actually) and place it in my room which is about 150 square feet, the intended use will be mostly to fight against dust and city pollution, plenty where I live. I cannot decide if this Levoit Vital 100 will be enough for the job or if I should go a level up and strait get the Coway AP-1512HH Mighty, the thing that puzzles me is mostly the CADR, this one is rated about 130 CFM while the Coway is way above, at 250, but at the same time the Coway will be 100 more euros compared to the Levoit. What do you advise?

I have published a comparison between the Levoit Vital 100 and the Winix C535 last week, in which Winix won as a better buying option. I assume the same thing would be with the Winix 5500-2 model.

The instructions state to wash the pre-filter under running water??? I thought it should only be vacuumed ??

I don’t recommend washing the pre-filter on this air purifier. Perhaps you accidentally read the user manual for the Vital 100S, which is a newer model equipped with a washable pre-filter?

i have one. biggest issue is it lasted me only 3 months before it signaled to change filters. The filters are not washable. just the pre filter one. not the main one. As much as these things cost, they should offer washable main ones too! Eventually, they too should be replaced in time, but Many can not afford to be buying expensive filters all the time.

There is no such thing as a washable HEPA filter.

What would you recommend to just remove dust, dust, dog hair and dust? We live in the country on a dirt road, so it's horrid. We need a big air mover on the cheap side. It doesn't have to super filtered, just something. Thanks!

I know I’m quite late but I have this filter with two cats and a dog in our household and it does an excellent job! The washable filter gets absolutely filthy and is pretty easy to clean. With frequent vacuuming/sweeping and this air purifier it makes such a difference!

A couple of $20 box fans with filters carpenter taped to them. Can set up 3 for under $100 and while it doesn't work great it might fit your needs

I actually did that yesterday lol. It had been sitting for over a year and has collected dust. So I took it apart and cleaned. Worked great after installing the filter

Hmm, I am sorry, but I cannot agree with you. I believe that the Vital 100 is an ok air purifier. Of course, it's not in range with the Winix 5500-2 or Coway AP-1512, but it's still a great device.
