I’ve watched this video countless times over the years. Just tonight it hit me how sparse, how economical is the number of people and instruments being played. Not a wasted note, great harmonies, driving rhythm section, awesome solos. But pick up whatever your instrument is and try to play along with it. Not so simple. Great, great performance.

Could you imagine sitting directly above and watching Levon work the drums? Great sound all around.

Levon was the center of The Band. His voice his beat his knowledgeable and articulate understanding of how he could make that music. I am a fan of all The Band, but Levon was IT!

@@ronphillips6336 Hi Ron, my comment tried to reflect on the fact ..in my opinion, that this video captured really down-home music with a HOF musician in the mix. I could not understand how some were "thumbing down" on a really good and easy piece of music. This song didn't suggest anything adverse or derogitory to anyone through the lyrics, it's very neutral and its' a real peaceful song but some chose to "down thumb" just because they can. All are entitled to their opinions but none are wrong are they. hope the above expresses adequately my response in earlier comment. Best regards sir. Mark. Reply should we need to continue this dialogue.

Levon was a pretty good actor. He played Leon Pickett,a railroad worker in “End Of The Line”, a film that came out in the late 80’s. I recommend it highly.

I agree, Levon was the master mind behind “ The Band “ and he had a really talented group of musicians that could really work together for as long as they did. But, all and all I liked the small four piece blues band the best.

Great video ! My brother bought me the DVD at the merch counter after seeing Levon play The Ryman in Nashville years ago. I`ll always remember Karl(brother) saying that Robert Plant and Allison Krauss were there groovin` to Levon`s music and hangin` out at the soundboard. Karl always loved sitting in that area to see who would come by. I especially love this song from it. Still missing Levon, Rick and Richard from The Band. Three great talents who`s voices blended beautifully. Started listening to The Band shortly after "The Brown" album came out, but never got to see them until they re-formed without Robbie in the 80s. At least I got to see The Band with everybody else still on board !
