The Band, one of my biggest musical heroes. When I clicked on this video, I expected it to be a weak version of the versions I knew, because that has happened too many times before... But it wasn't. Levon Helm remains one of my musical heroes. Such a legend. I love The Band.

I appreciate this band they all look like they are enjoying what they are doing, I think that was so important for Levon. His singing and drumming was amazing. It's sad that he wasn't recognized for his talents and skills. Although his town recognized him. I think the band was under a lot of pressure, the stress was just way to much as well we can see only 2 members left. Levon Helm was a great drummer and singer he put his all in.

If my memory serves me correctly, Levon Helm was the first guest on Late Night w/ Dave Letterman who sat in with the band. He came on as a guest and admired the band, and when Dave shook his hand, he said "If you don't mind, I'd like to play with the band." Then he spent the rest of the show playing the harmonica w/ the band. This was when it was on NBC after Carson. Am I correct?
