@21:18 "I wonder if there wasn't the Levy Effect here..." the same thing happened to Hans Nieman in TT where he was too busy talking smack to realize he was being out played by someone that didn't even know who he was playing against. Perhaps there is power in being the biggest chess KZbinr after all, despite a giant rating disparity. Hmmm
@seecreature8664Ай бұрын
I definitely think there is some element of them getting in their own head. Becuase obviously Hans and Nepo shouldn't be losing to Levy, and over the board, I bet neither one of them would. But when you're online and you know "Oh this guys going to make a video out of this if he even comes close to beating me" is like a little splinter in your brain. Levy has the same thing happening to him, which is why he put on that Chrome Extension to hide his opponent. It's made him unstoppable.

@Wargasm54Ай бұрын
If levy controls his fear and anxiety, he can become a GM. I’ve known this for years. The fact that levy blocks the opponents name (so he doesn’t know who he’s playing against) is proof of this. If levy is able to focus on HIS game and NOT worry about who he’s playing, he can fair much better. Levy needs to challenge his fears to overcome them. He needs to go skydiving, bungee jumping, whatever he fears he needs to conquer. If he’s afraid of guns, go to a range with an expert and learn how to shoot. If he’s afraid of rollercoasters, go to a theme park and ride the scariest coasters. Skydiving would be the best probably. If you beat a possible death scenario, you tend not to fear much else.

Sicilian is a really nice addition to all players with at least 1500 rating. It gives you so many lines and opening patterns, from which everyone can choose. I like accelerated dragon or shveshnikov a lot, but you can also have as white such a fine and funny games with long castle and some random kingside attacks... of course drawback is that you need to spend like 1000 hours to learn it, but once you get it, it is really very good opening with either very sharp or very solid lines...
