Lewis has said that his father (now deceased) and mother were/are able to live as long as they did/have because he has "conned enough of us to come and see him" ;-) that it has enabled him to provide his parents with round-the-clock care. I'm sure that has extended their lives quite a bit. And good for them! I'm glad. I love you, Lewis. You bring joy to so many. Take care, sir. ❤ I hope to be able to see you live again sometime soon.

I just listened to Marc Maron's episode about Bob Saget. He played the three interviews they had together, and it was really great seeing them both so open about everything. And joking about everything. Bob goes from telling this impactful moment about segregation when he was a child, to joking about his dad open mouth kissing him. It's a great ride. And Bill Burr got really emotional just telling Bob Saget stories and that no one else would tell.

Something about Lew and Marc being related feels stabilising and 'sensible' in this world of otherwise senseless chaos...Curmudgeons of a feather flocking together--or at least sniping and griping in like manner from their respective points of superlative dissatisfied observation--just feels like Science. Plus it makes for a nice change when the madness seems self-explanatory/evident rather than batshit and random (like the last 2 years or 6 years or however many millennia we've been existing in this surreal time warp of Covid/RumpT/bleach-drinking/tide-pod-eating/Jewish space-laser-y Upside Down of human devolution). Thanks for Risking Your Lives, comedians, entertainers/performers, and to all those whose work is never classified as 'essential': keeping us laughing, singing, dancing, or finding beauty is an integral service that saves minds in small moments every day.

I once waited in the pouring rain in Milwaukee, WI for two hours during Summerfest to see Lewis and he made fun of us for being there. Ah, I know a few that make stuff up like that... one of them suddenly decided I was some evil ball & chain after 38½ years of marriage, and now makes stuff up regularly about how terrible his life was with me. Never said a damned word beforehand, but boy has he said plenty since he filed for divorce the day after our 39th anniversary! He's broken our adult disabled sons' hearts so bad one doesn't even want to talk to him, and the other never wants to get married, now, because he looked at our marriage as the perfect relationship... now, he's lost as much trust as I have. And how can I honestly tell him he's wrong? I'm not gonna lie to him, after all. I'm all he can count on, right now!
