Thank-you for sharing, excellent as always. I would LOVE to hear every detail you remember from MLK's speech. Your companions, why you went, did you expect the large crowd, what do you remember from like the week or months before, could you feel a shift before & the speech sealed it to where it was evident to all? Where did you eat at? What did you do after?... Your memories will be fascinating & should be preserved for history... ☮️⚖️🍻

Nick’s rant encapsulates exactly what American companies think of customer service, which has become Customer Coercion (one company I dealt with last year has changed CS dept to “Customer Loyalty Dept.”) Two purchases I made, in ‘21 and ‘23, required contact with CS that was so long, convoluted, idiotic and weird that Nick’s tale looks simple by comparison. That said, his rant stands out because Timex refused the simplest, cheapest solution: to replace the missing item. How are they saving money here?! Having worked in CS, I think we needed an Angie’s list for the worst CS depts. as of 10 years ago. Reviews on company websites aren’t enough anymore.

Ya, Lewis, the same thing happens to Disabled people who never served in the military! When they reach the age of 65, they automatically become RETIRED & lose the annual "Cost of Living" increases that Disabled people get as a hedge against inflation. Retired people must wait for Congressional increases that are few & far between in a (single-party) system!

Walz is great as a VP candidate because he is NOT a west or east coast over paid wealthy type. That is where the Dems dropped the ball especially the past 10 years when the Dem elites and talking heads started casting all non-college degree people and people who do not live in large urban areas are somehow *less then* or ignorant. There are millions of us who are hardcore liberals because we see the effects of not living near urban areas with social services the majority of the country has no access to, i.e. dental care for Medicare recipients, mental health care, Obstetric. Walz speaks the language and has the Midwestern *nice* that echos the Southern "Bless your heart" attitude we can appreciate without being mean or hateful but pointing out the truth on the GOP..

I get the watch strap story. My tenant's dryer stops working and I find it's just a broken plastic (with a little bit of metal) KNOB. I order a replacement online and get it within a few days...but it's the wrong knob. Rather than just send me the correct bit of plastic, I have to send it back, buy a new one and wait while their whatever department evaluates the situation. The "replacement" arrives quickly but it takes a month for them to issue a refund for the first one. IT'S JUST A PIECE OF PLASTIC! YOU SENT ME THE WRONG ONE, JUST SEND ME THE RIGHT ONE! Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"?
