Princeton alums and Obie Award winners Lileana Blain-Cruz ’06 and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins ’06 discuss the formative theater community at Princeton and their experience returning to campus to stage GURLS, Jacobs-Jenkins’ new adaptation of Euripides’ The Bacchae that was commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Lewis Arts complex. Directed by Blain-Cruz, GURLS had its world premiere in October 2017 to a sold-out house in the Wallace Theater during A Festival of the Arts at Princeton.
Princeton University alumni working in the arts are sharing their career journeys and personal stories in the Lewis Center for the Arts’ profile series, Alumni POV. The series celebrates the accomplishments of arts alumni working in a broad range of disciplines, providing an intimate perspective on their daily lives and careers, in their own words. The ongoing series is produced, filmed and edited by the Lewis Center’s Angel Gardner and Zohar Lavi-Hasson.
