Watches and Formula 1 are the two things I follow. Looking forward to British GP this weekend. I do hope Lando will the home race. The connection between racing and timing is obvious. But IWC isn’t the usual suspect. I’m wearing my Speedy which was born as a racing chrono, but it known to most as Moonwatch.

I guess I‘d have several iwc‘s if the sizing just was more wearable. quality, designs and functs are amazing

Agree...though the ones I tried mostly seemed to wear smaller than I was expecting. The 44.5mm feels more like a 42mm to me and even the 41mm felt like it could've been 39-40 as the lugs are relatively short.

@@Escapement24 always got my eyes on a spitfire. that would be my choice I guess. for me, that’s iwc on the spot. but I got a breitling navitimer 8 three hands in gunmetal I like a lot. at the moment I stick with that.

Hard to believe his lawyers advised him to proceed...you don't need to be legally trained to know that a brand using a name for over 100 years would be deemed to have fair usage rights in most jurisdictions whether or not they own the trademark

@@Escapement24 this sure was driven by lawyers, no doubt. heads were rolling afterwards I guess. but lewis could have easily stopped that nonsense at any time. so this looked like a 100% money move. there was no other reason. and when you’re rich a f already… actions like that don’t raise sympathy.

Yeah, I can see what you mean about the white ceramic, but I think the Tudor would look better still. The problem with these watches is that they are just too big for most people, and t00 expensive< I mean, who's buying theses, they can't be selling big numbers, and the LH gold AMG C63 is a monster, I mean the crown looks like it will do you damage on your own hand 🤣

Like Lewis Hamilton convincing himself that he looks good in the bizarre garb he likes to wear? 🤔😂 Like F1 racing these days, IWC’s output is all too big and too expensive for what you get. Have you seen the prices for the British Grand Prix! Still, at least you had a nice goodie bag 😊

I think you could argue that all watches are getting too expensive...but I think the saying goes that a rising tide lifts all ships (or something like that). I always thought of IWC pieces being too big for me, but they seem to be moving in the direction of smaller sizes with the 41mm Top Gun releases at least, which is definitely a step in the right direction IMO

​@@Escapement24as someone with an 18cm wrist that used to wear a 46mm Big Pilot, and sold once they released their 43mm versions, I couldn't be happier. The 43mm is perfect for still being a "Big Pilot" but actually wearable. Their new Ingenieur will be perfect once they give it a better movement worthy of the price tag or reduce the price to $8K for the current movement it has.

So his favourite watch just happens to be one made by a company that has given him a shed load of money and free watches? 🥸 I love a big watch and those that go for it, but trust me, even with camera angle distortion, those watches are way way too big for you ; ) Lego was a nice touch 😈

Sadly you're probably right about the sizing on my wrists 😭 ...but on the bright side I can take solace in the fact that I won't be facing imminent bankruptcy or credit card debt 😂
