Yep better man than I'll ever be. Even most fans aren't over it whereas he brushed it off & rose above it. Practices what he preaches re positivity/'still I rise' etc which I respect. Countless F1 drivers have kicked off & done crazy things when things don't go their way over common races when not even fighting for the title...let alone a record-breaking 8th title. Though I'm myself am a Magnussen fan who was cheering for Verstappen, I agree. Hamilton didn't get his status just by having a good car; he's also a beast of a driver. I'm honestly very happy that he's not going anywhere, anytime soon. He'll be dearly missed when he leaves the grid.

@@TurboJLo The fault wasn't Lewis's or even Verstappen's; earlier that year, because of the whole Belgium dilemma, teams and the FIA had agreed to not finish races on a yellow flag. Masi was simply following protocol (although the removal of the cars ONLY between HAM and VER was embarrassing). In the end, it was Red Bull with Hannah Schmitz's mastermind that came out on top. That doesn't mean Mercedes is out though; 2022 was a lesson about the new cars. Mercedes will be back soon.

Never watched motorsport until Abu Dhabi 2021. Wanted Hamilton to win because I’m British. But the way he handled the “loss” made me stay watching this season and support him and Mercedes. Proper sportsman and more importantly top human being.

Lewis is one of the GOATs and we're lucky to be able to watch him race for a few more years to come. The amount of titles doesn't really matter towards this. But if he does manage win an 8th at this point, it will be a more than well deserved record, and no one will be able to argue that.

Lewis is the reason I got into F1. I'm American and didn't get exposed to the sport until the 07 US grand prix at Indianapolis which was televised here and I was hooked.This amazing sport wasn't televised at all here so I used to get up early every Sunday morning and search certain websites just to watch and follow Lewis and watch these amazing machines go around the circuit.

It is strange how a season with less success than anticipated made me respect the team and Lewis even more, simply because of how they handled it and reacted to it. The way you react to a negative outcome is inspiring and something I have been struggling for all my life. I am so glad Lewis will keep on competing in F1 with Mercedes. I have been watching F1 since I was a kid (I am one day older than Lewis 🙏) and the bond that Merc and Lewis have I have only ever seen with Schumacher and Ferrari before.
