How was the hike down to the river? We’ll have a little one with us to visit the Lower Falls. Is it steep to go down?
@garyjohnson80813 жыл бұрын
Incredible, I was thinking Palouse would be a good place to visit, this takes the top spot so far of all the Hidden Gems I have seen in Washington State
@cerrillovision91823 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was definitely one of the better hikes we have been on. I haven't been to Palouse yet but from what I have seen, I would choose this over Palouse.

Three hours drive from where? And how many miles was your hike into the falls U found? Very nice Scenic filming, editing & musical score- THANKYOU SO VERY MUCH 4 this video...!!
@cerrillovision91823 жыл бұрын
We live in Hermiston, which is in Eastern Oregon. The first waterfall wasn't very far into the hike at all but the other two were pretty far. I believe the whole hike was almost 9 miles round trip. Glad you liked the video!

Print parking pass / directions before you leave home. The trail is nice, took Lower falls trail, about 1/8 mile in is waterfall so very easy. Trails down to river are steep but you can get spectacular views without using them. This is NOt A SWIMMiNG hole! There is no jumping off the falls. Huge sign alerting death as a side effect of doing this, more google searching leads to more deaths. If an emergency occurs you are at least 30 mins from cell service to call for help, we were without cell service for over an hour. Went in July and water was ice cold, falls water was so strong, many people came in bathing suits and brought towels and looked upset. One look at it would tell you this is not a safe place to ‘play’ in the water- at least not in July, and never for jumping. It’s a beautiful place to hike or picnic. Miles of trails if you want to explore- just not for swimming in July, I would not think this is ever a place to safely jump from falls. No cell service so on a very long trip, made it longer getting lost, download turns / directions before heading out. Road is good until there is a huge sink hole so driving is slow.

This is a swimming hole. I was just there today and have been there many times in the 43 years I’ve lived in WA. Today I took my normal dip and swam for around an hour as did many other people. Be responsible and don’t do anything you are not confident in and you will be fine. A few people even took the leap into the swimming hole off the falls. All knew what they were doing and made it out alive.

Was lower Lewis falls swimmable or too cold
@cerrillovision91823 жыл бұрын
There were lots of people swimming when we were there. It was pretty cold though. I personally didn’t get in because I can’t stand the cold but I think it just depends on how your tolerance lol

I have my wife and my 1 year old son and want to go here and I have no use of arms or weapons is it safe??
@cerrillovision91823 жыл бұрын
yeah you should be good. I think it depends on where you can get a parking spot as well. I believe there are parking spots for all three of the falls. We parked by the upper falls and hiked to the upper, middle, and lower falls.
