Something I learnt during internal tests I took part in. You can just build houses over tents, you don't need to dismantle tents. All building upgrades work that way. I think it's also more resource efficient.

For example guard towers are just upgrades to watchtowers. You could have built them over worse versions.

Reminds me of where I grew up. Except the snow was only 6ft deep when drifted or plowed into banks. It usually didn't go above waist deep otherwise. Also we didn't have a huge steam generator...or a post apocalyptic society. On second thought, it's not much like where I grew up.

These folks are doing it wrong, I reckon. They're in a crater with a heat generator in the middle of it. They should work on building a roof over the crater (with an exhaust hole in the centre, where the generator is, to let out the generator's smoke and stuff). Stop the snow. Keep the heat in. Put some insulation on the roof and around the crater walls to retain the heat. You could turn that crater into quite a nice little colony with the right planning.

That crater can house many homes and entire factories. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to build, let alone maintain such a roof, even with steampunk technology that can build programmable robots.

They generally played quite well but as mentioned below they could build upgraded versions of buildings on top of old ones instead of demolitioning then plus they could have done with using steam hubs to heat specific areas, such as outer housing and workplaces.

nah they failed that mission due to the lack of heating for the houses on the outer ring,(which was the source of complaints) they should've gotten steam hubs instead of another power level. since they only needed 4 or so of them heated for 3 days.

I also doubt their charity work comes anywhere near $500k. :/
