Thanks so much for sharing..... interesting concept. I didn't seal mine..... and my house isn't sealed either. My house was built 10 years earlier and looks fine. I am not saying to not seal the stone. I think it comes down to what appearance are you looking for? It's been 3.5 years since I built my mailbox and should do a review on it and explain what I learned and what I would do differently...... great idea. Stay tuned!

What will you do if you eyeball burn? I'm just wondering because I'm going to do the same thing at my place but then I start thinking how am I going to change the light bulb

That is a very good question. You are not the first to ask it. I wish I would have discussed this in my video. The answer is very easy. I didn't secure the top cap. It is only sitting there freely. How I do it, I get someone to help me. I lift at one side while a friend lifts at the same time on the other side. Lay the top cap on the ground while I replace/clean out the bugs and dirt. Then place the cap back in its place

What kind of light and fixture did you use inside? And how did you mount the light?

I used a blue box like anyone would use in the wall in their house. I had one laying around. I just laid it inside, nothing fancy. I bought a WIFI bulb from Lowes for $20 so I can change the color using my phone and turn it on and off using my phone

@@07slink Great question, yes, I can access the light by lifting off the top cap.

@@DIYinspiredLewisBrantner So the cap sits loose? or did you silicone it to the glass block and then razor knife the silicone when you need to replace the light? My pillar lights burn out at least once a year, but they sit on top of the caps and I can access them easily.

@@07slink Yes, mine is the same way. The cap sits on top of the glass block and I didn't secure it. Originally, I was going to silicone it to the block but I placed it there temporality and was going to silicone it later but then I decided to leave it. Since the pillar is tall, I don't have to worry with anyone bumping it and it has a considerable amount of weight, it didn't move by itself.
