Kevin O’Leary was born to a middle-class family in 1954. The combination of Kevin’s mother’s family heritage as merchants and his father’s Irish charisma truly meant that O’Leary was born for business. Kevin learned most of his business intuition from his mother. She taught him key business and financial insights from an early age. These became Kevin’s core philosophies and the pillars upon which he would one day build his empire.
As a university student, Kevin’s innate business sense led him along several different paths - including some very unusual, very entrepreneurial ways of making a profit. Not long after he finished his MBA, Kevin had a meeting that changed his life forever. He met a man who had a strange idea for a software product - an idea with huge, high-profit potential that Kevin immediately recognized.
After years of ups, downs, sacrifices, challenges, and lessons learned - not to mention a critical phone call that nearly cost him everything - the opportunity that Kevin saw eventually turned into a computer software giant that was acquired for more than $4 billion dollars.
After his extraordinary success at the software company he founded - and a difficult period of obstacles and legal disputes - Kevin eventually found himself on television, quickly becoming a sought-after host and personality on a range of shows - including Discovery’s Project Earth, CBC’s Dragons’ Den, and ABC’s Shark Tank - earning the name, “Mr. Wonderful.”
Today, I have the pleasure of speaking of Kevin O’Leary - Mr. Wonderful himself. Today, you’ll hear about the challenges he faced as he journeyed through the world of entrepreneurship as well as some incredible tips to strengthen your financial future.
Join me on Episode 1,076 to learn the keys to financial freedom with Shark Tank’s Mr. Wonderful - Kevin O’Leary!

Seasoned divorce lawyer here. Just my two cents: Kevin hit the nail on the head when he said picking the right partner is an absolute critical life decision. Better to stay single and focus on your life goals than to marry someone who is not completely on board with your passions, goals and financial mindset. Be careful out there!

It just is not true that money is cause of divorce, why reach couples divorce then?
@robin472
@robin472 3 жыл бұрын
@@koumbeboube1312 Exactly, rich couples divorce too. I think what he means is the disagreement on how money is spent within the marriage. He wants to spend and she wants to save or the other way around. One wants an expensive house and vehicle, saying you only live once and the other says we can't afford that we need to save for the future. Or you make an agreement, we won't spend over XX without talking it over first, but one of them can't keep the agreement. There are a multitude of reasons to divorce, mostly trust, as Kevin said. Once broken, nothing will ever be the same. There are many ways people ignore others needs, create drama to distract from the facts, and simply have no respect for others. Whether at work, in marriage, in families. What Kevin said is true, the biggest decision is marriage, always think this through and spend at least a year knowing the other before marriage.

Exactly ! Having money is having the power to do only things you want to do, are passionate about ; to have the luxury of just saying, 'I don't feel like it' even if you may disappoint some people, and the power to just say 'no, I am not going to do that !' Sometimes people just expect too much of you and that's not fair.

Super excellent show! I LOVE Kevin O'leary. He is very intriguing with the confidence and humour to entertain and teach. I do not believe he is heartless, as some may have thought, prior to this show, even though he wouldn't care, even better advice, lol! Great show, Lewis!
