It's cool that you're interested in the aesthetics of the chocolate bar. It was picked because there is a storyline based on a thing called the Bangtan Universe it's a FICTIONAL journey of a group of boys traveling from high school to adulthood through several timelines that mingle in complex ways. The member who is swimming in candy bars was abandoned by his mother who left him with nothing but a snickers bar... If you attract a large ARMY (BTS fan group) following, you will have a lot of fans telling you that you need to understand the BU in order to understand the music videos... you really don't. It's a fun game to sort out all the symbolism in their videos but the music really does stand on it's own. They make great songs with amazing lyrics and messages... and that's enough for most of us. This song, 'Fake Love' although it fits into the BU journey, is mainly about self esteem and staying true to yourself when you find yourself changing to suit someone else's idea of who you should be to stay in a relationship. There is a ton of symbolism there are more metaphors than there are ways to count them but the words are beautifully crafted to tell a story that is easily understandable. well the story line is really nostalgic for me, at that time there wasnt all these explanation videos , webtoon and even the MVs werent all released we had to wait for new ones, thinking whats going on, there was theories jin is dead its all illusion this and that and ... the whole journey we had trough the story line makes me want to see others thought on it too, ofc u dont have to try it and just the MV and music is good but I like to dive deeper and know the meanings.

One detail that blew my mind, is the "Save me" writing on the mirror. If you flip it, you can read "I'm fine". They have a song called Save me and another song called I'm Fine. Both songs are connected and the sound production is quite similar especially the first few notes.

Every single scene in Fake Love is directly tired to the ongoing cinematic universe they have which we call the Bangtan Universe. Literally everything has a huge meaning in a part of the story that was told before this video. There is a webtoon called Save Me which tells the story if you're into that type of stuff. BTS are a multi layered experience. You have the surface sound, the lyrical meanings which are just INSANELY well written and meaningful, and then also the symbolism beneath the entire production. Many ARMY have based entire dissertations on BTS and their cultural impact on the music industry. I HIGHLY recommend maybe watching the lyric videos first and then watching the cinematic videos because you are super missing out to not put the lyrics to the song. RM, the leader, specifically said that these days no one cares much about lyrics, just the sound. So they want to change that and make the lyrics a huge part of the experience. So two little informations: The snickers bar has a special meaning in the fictional universe that runs through BTS mvs. But you’re right, it’s also just very aesthetically pleasing in this scene. Also the mv was made with barely any special effects. The fire, the waterfall, the floor falling, that was all real. My next suggestion for you to react to: NOT TODAY by BTS!!! BTS is a mental workout. They are such hard workers. I remember watching interviews with other stars like Lauv, Halsey or Becky G where they all practically said the same thing. They said things such as: I thought I worked hard until I worked with BTS. Interesting you should say the guitar was a little more prominent. They do have an extra version of Fake Love which is the rock vibe version in the Love Yourself: Answer album, which means there’s more guitar throughout. I think that is the version they performed to in the last tour, or at least the set list in articles have posted that list that. I hadn’t thought of it at the time, because when I saw them perform it in person I was noob.
