hey bandrew, just wanted to give you a big sloppy thank you. im 13 and i would always watch your reviews from maybe 1 year and a bit ago and it really came in helpful when i was doing my first year of music technology at school, since we started off learning about microphones and interfaces. and because your reviews were so educational, i had learned a whole lot about microphones before anyone else in my class which really pushed me to the top of the class. so thank you for that

Great video and great job - very useful. I’m using the 350 CM for live jobs. And it sounds great. I have used Shure SM86, Audix OM3, OM5, OM7, Shure Beta 87a, etc. But the Lewitt simply sunds better and the noise handling is pure A game 👍🏻

I think the MTP 350 CM compares pretty well to most of those other mics. It definitely sounds better than the SM58, and IMO even compares well to the MTP 940 CM. The Neumann actually sounds a little bass heavy to my ears, but I almost feel like I'm having hearing fatigue from listening to such similar-sounding mics before that one. I kind of like the MTP 940 CM the best, at least in this comparison.

Thank you very much Peter. You didn't find it fatiguing at all? Do you think that less bassy mics are more complimentary to my voice or just this one worked?
@artysanmobile4 жыл бұрын
Podcastage Not the least bit fatiguing. Actually, I found it to be strong in a low mid frequency that just happens to flatter your own voice tone, and that warmth with just a bit of presence sounds like the EQ curve I’d dial in just for you. Just guessing, I’d say its just a bit forward between 100-300. Most similar was the KMS105, which is my all-time fave for almost anybody. I’d suggest you put your name on that Lewitt.

I don`t want to disappoint you, but just pay your attention - KMS105 has serious distortions ((( But it sound tonally pretty well.
@tom_k_d4 жыл бұрын
@@user-vl6zl5nn4y I do not hear distortion, but a super clean high end, in fact cleaner than with many expensive LDCs - plus max SPL is 150dB (!) for the KMS105. Yes, I recognize some warmth in the mids, which I like - it's not completely neutral in it's frequency response, but it takes EQ exceptionally well (I own KMS105s, and compared them in detail to many others).

Nice review video man, love the consistent methods and useful tips. But I have a suggestion for live mics, handheld condenser mics even more so as they are a "new" thing for the stage and they are priced normally, I am missing one thing ... is there a chance to add a reviewing method to the table where you would have a small to medium sized room (I saw you have many rooms to choose from;), like a practise space where you would have a band (or one 3/4 track recording of a rock trio/quartet without vocals - playing trough speakers at a similar level as if they would play in live the practise room - you could also have a speaker in each corner playing a different instrument), and sing (hard+smooth) in the mics or make measurements of how much bleed there is from different angles and other instruments, when the feedback comes in, how it colours the sound and so forth ... I miss that and it would make a good addition to the decider if I should buy the mic online, based on your review and maybe how it performs in a "live" session room ... the day you decide to use this idea ;) ... it would also make an additional info about how condenser live mics compare to the established dynamic mics and so the singers would have a better understanding of all the options that are out there. Keep'm coming!

Well, IMO the Neumann won the comparison. No surprises there. Mics that I could actually afford, I really think this might be up there. I'd have to listen to the comparisons a few times but the detail (the whole reason you'd get one of these instead of a dynamic) is definitely there. I'm not sure I love it - as you said, the high pass filter might be a bit much for spoken word, and I think I'd like something very flat. But I'd have to hear it on my own voice, I think.

I like the first microphone regardless of your inappropriate comment at 04:20. Its a pretty good price, looks and sounds pretty solid....Check. . BUT... I need to say something to your silly comment Mr Podcastage. All vocalists are allowed to use whatever kinds of microphone "techniques" they please. Covering or cupping a mic in a certain way (in a live show) can create a certain desired effect. Obviously, doing that excessively or covering it completely like you demonstrated, is pretty darn idiotic. So, please, in future try not to spew your idiot accusations and possibly loaded ideas of rappers (and other humans) out at us like that. Some of us Hip-hop, Rap, Black, MC ... "idiots"... actually support your little channel here. So, be please be respectful...or at least try. I know its hard. . Besides all that, ya stuffs is dope bruh. Very clear and concise reviews. I’m not saying that all rappers, mc’s, metal band vocalists, or pop punk singers are idiots (edit: why did race come into your comment? I never said anything about race....I’m confused by this). I’m saying that improperly using a microphone is idiotic. Perhaps I could have worded it better. Of course there are reasons to do it if you’re going for a desired effect, but generally speaking, if you’re trying to get the best sound as you can (which most musicians probably are going for), you should not cup the microphone. You can hear the tone change drastically which is why you should not.
