I ordered both hypermags spinning and casting and also purchased an elit ti. They’re supposed to be here tomorrow I’m just scared because all my upper end reels have a ton of reviews tear downs (scorpion, chronarch, alderbaran 50, tranx, tatula). I ordered because I watched Scott martins bass master open since he just switched to Lews and these reels did work with Scott landing over 30 pounds both days. Love the detailed review I subbed 👍 this isn’t a knock on Lews either I’m just concerned because usually with reels in this price range they’re heavily reviewed and Lews hasn’t really made reels like this before that compete with our jdm counterparts. Im excited hope I love them. I’d love to see a updated review on your elite ti and hypermag after heavy use 👍

Hypermag 2 is perfect as you mention. I’ve used Shimano 20 Metanium which is actually more expensive than hypeag 2 but I switched to hypermag and won’t return to Metanium. Casting distance is comparable to each other but much better brake/much less backlash and much more power on drag.

Holding up really well but keep in mind I’ve only had them since November. They’re still very crisp feeling
