How do you switch the handle sides on this reel

easy you unscrew the knob off the other side of the handle crank and swap the handle crank to the other side of the reel then you screw the knob back opposite to the handle crank tighten it down and your off and running easy peas 'y

Thank you for some reason the thing in it was not coming off with the cap when I tried the first couple of times

It's a 3000 series, thats what R30 means, problems I had with lews is the rods snapping and eyes breaking when hooking into big fish, drag can be set perfect and the lews rods can't handle it, I love the reels though

Close your bail manually with any open face reel to cut down on line twists. Every time you cast and then crank the handle to close the bail it twists the line a lot. Even at an estimated line twist of 2 twists per cast it adds up quickly. Making a 100 casts without closing the bail manually…now u have 200 twists.

thanks for the advice iv been fishing for 44 years in the hole time i have fish iv never used a worse spinning reel then any thing the lews reels make iv never had the same issue from any other brand of spinning reels besides lews

I’m using mine with 20 pound braid with 15 pound leader and I love it but I agree it is terrible With mono

What pound line are you running? I’m trying 6 pound mono fluorocarbon.

its a size 3000 setup iv used 10lb mono with at first iv down graded it to 8 pound test it casts better some what it still line twist on me iv started using 30lb braid on it actually cast way better with out so many i did try fluro on this reel and it was way worse with line twist blow outs then the mono i hate fluro on any of my reels earthier braid or mono on a stiff graphite rod works great evan tho braids a stiff line like fluro is i get better results with braid line on this rod then i do with any other line with a uni knot with mono leader hope this helps i use other brands of spinning reels with mono and never had the issue iv had with spinning lews reel there junk in my book but i do love the lews bait caster there great any kind of lines you use with them
