I have a couple of crazy kittens I tease from an upstairs window when they are stalking things in the driveway. Just for a few minutes though. I don't ever want them to get too used to it because its how I get them in at night. They don't exactly come when called. If I leave them out the coyotes will eat them. I call it "the dot" when I go to bring them in. I tell them "get the dot!" They are so cute. Good to see Cinnabon is doing so good.

Reflected laser light might be harsh or even permanently damaging to a cat's eyes. I wouldn't use one like this. Had a friend who had a red laser briefly flashed in his eyes and he had obvious impairment for days; hard to tell what the permanent effect might have been. (Also, it doesn't give him anything tangible to catch, so frustrating for him.)

My last cat had no interest in laser pointers. She didn't care for most cat toys either. But she loved chasing string and also a piece of palm frond (leaf), which is easy to find here in Florida.
