I didn't think it was that revelational in the new Batman film, everyones jaws on the floor when a bad guy says they're vengeance, what is batman gunna say when a bad guy say they are justice? or whatever other lable, Batman should be dark and edgy. He isn't spiderman or captian America, this guy is supposed to be a dark character who has strict lines in the sand he won't cross. I thought the newest Batman film played by vampire boy sparkles could've been great without that part. It's the only immersion breaking part of the film I could not ignore

The “darkness & vengeance” aspect is him using the fear of villains as a tool to control them via their superstitious nature. Obviously he isn’t really darkness & vengeance. That’s not possible. As a mythological half man half bat hero that operates only at night his reputation can preceded him. His only real villains are the ones that know he is only human.

I thought this would go on a little longer but it was solid. There were some flaws but I enjoyed seeing Batman change it up a bit. The ending gave us Batman in a different light, which was a welcome surprise. It was nice to see Batman asking for help.

The reason for Batman to be angry at the offer, is that Lex is basically casting that aspersion on Bruce, that the reason to be Batman is for having the means for it by being rich. For being able to afford luxury wines. That's not the "means" Batman uses, but the real worth of work going into it. The bat technology is not comparable to a luxury wine, it's comparable to everything Bruce put ON TOP of being a billionaire. That if you do the good you would do as a poor man, as a rich man you should reach Batman-levels. A luxury wine is just a decent beverage with a price tag on it, the complete opposite. Fake, manufactured worth. This is a good scene, and would be less undermined if Lex had this character consistently and didn't exist solely as a template to be whatever type of evil is needed for the day. Lex is pretty much like Batman, but instead of the world bending over backwards so Batman can be written as having planned it all along, Lex always displays exactly the vice that is needed so he is the "evil" guy, and makes some dumbshit decision that is against his interest just for the sake of being evil. Usually something, something, ego. Because self-awareness, -valuation, and -esteem is the REAL modern villainy. What people want from heroes is the opportunity to JUDGE who is a good and who is a bad hero. It's just sitting back and making the hero your servant doing your bidding.

1. I do want to see a Elseworld where Lex Luthor actually does become Batman. His parents are killed in front of him as kid just Bruce Wayne's & he's raised by their butler. When he grows up, he goes around the world, & receives the same training as Bruce did for all those years. 2. I also want to see a Elseword where Lex Luthor is the same villain he always is. He uses X-Kryptonite on himself, gives himself the powers as Superman, & masters him. His ultimate goal is that Superman seemingly heroism deception & he's playing the long game. There is no way Superman stands for what he claims he stands for & is as powerful as he is without being corrupt is how Lex sees Superman. So, once Superman turns against The Earth & reveals his true self & intentions, Lex will use his Kryptonian powers to defeat & kill Superman, being the real hero & savior of humanity is Lex's ultimate goal on this Earth.

It's the other way around, Deathstroke is the only one he barely beat. Prometheus used the tech in his helmet to download all the skills of all the best martial artists, including Batman, into his central nervous system and, off panel, beat him. In their 2nd fight, Batman was actually winning until Prometheus caught him off guard after playing possum, but Batman managed to exploit his helmet's weakness forcing it to download into Prometheus's nervous system to have the same physical characteristics as Professor Stephen Hawkings. Prometheus "cheated" to win in their 1st fight, then Batman "cheated" to win their 2nd.
