The side effect of axiety that you experience the first week is just you overwelming yourself with the fact that you are taking the med. The med it self takes about 1 to 2 weeks to take effect. You have to find the right dose for you

Happy to hear things are progressing with positive results. I just started a lexapro regimen and it's reassuring to hear success stories. I had a severe reaction to Lexapro, I took half; 5 mg for 2 weeks then took the 10mg after that first one month, I had 16 pills in the bottle after a month! It caused me to have a severe Panic attack induced by the medication that caused my body to seize up, I couldn't move, I was frozen inside myself! My mind was cognitively aware of things though, I could talk to people, I was just Paralyzed! I had to calm myself down and after a little over an hour, I was able to move again, I was at work when it happened, thank goodness I was sitting in a chair during the whole thing. After I was driven home by my work. I had 7 more attacks within the duration of one week. My personality was altered aswell, it kept getting worse, so I eventually weaned off it. I was told that it might take a year to get back to normal, it took me 4 months to get back to normal. I'm never taking any medication again! I'll just deal with whatever I have.

I'm with u can't wait to get off. I'm a month in and no anxiety in the day but night another story. I've developed severe insomnia 😫. See a sleep specialist Monday and eventually a psychiatrist. Didn't want to start but doctor talk me into it and now I take lexapro 10 mg a 1 mg klonopin andccant sleep. Totally nightmare so far.

You might be that 10% , I'm on day 5 and I don't get to pissed off at to much ( if i do i catch myself and stop) I can talk to anyone without fear of judgment. And if I have somthing on my chest I can get it off. :)

Stop using this DRUGS it will WRECK you body... It caused me CFS, mental overstimulation and brain fog. It ain't worth it, your body doesn't need drugs, it needs nutrients!! Doctors work for the farma these days, they are drug pushers

Don't listen to these clowns trying to scare you. I'm day 5 on lexapro and yeah there are some side effects like I take mine in the morning and I'm a little tired until I eat some food and Boom full energy with a relaxed feel not worried about other shit just what's current is current and I'm ok. Just another day :)

How's it going for you? I'm on day 2 after being took off Celexa a couple of weeks ago. Celexa made me VERY dizzy when I stood up and caused a strange an uncomfortable pressure along my neck and the base of my scalp.

I'm on day 6 my friend im reading around trying to see other experiences today day 6. Its not so bad today but first 5 days especially 3 days I had dry mouth heavy eye lids my tummy felt weezy even eating w the pill. Yes as u said each day gets better yesterday and today was a lot better than 1st 4 days I have always had hard time sleeping but this puts me in deep deep sleep at least 3 to 5 hours which is rare for me to sleep that long not getting up usually 90 mins to 2 or 3 hours max but I still hear everything. W Lexapro I been able sleep ALSO IM TAKING NOW TOWARDS 5pm closer to sleep time. I swear very very bad we have hit weather here too Arizona.. I need meds more for depression I don't have much anxiety its the not motivated wanting to sleep I have very little bills I have my own business so I don't have to go to work or be no where so I sleep its beenb3 years I been thinking of this i just had a birthday last week imn35 this hardest the next 5 years I have so much to do buy house lose weight griw my business have a baby. Hey Girl,I take 20mgs a day,when I wake up,it’s in me,this has been a Godsend for me,I see a psychiatrist also,he recommended this and Xanax,I take .5 msg four times a day if needed,I rarely take it,do you have sleep probs?sex probs,appetite probs,anger issues,impatience with others?...really like to talk about our probs,if not,take care anyway,Mark.

This honestly sounds like me.... I hate heavy traffic. I'm 26 and have never driven in a big city or on the turnpike. I also have tried natural remedies, but my sleep has been pretty bad lately.... My dr suggested Lexapro to me and I'm nervous, but kind of leaning towards trying it...

Yes, I started to become agoraphobic to where I really didn’t want to go anywhere. Please don’t b afraid of meds. They may make u feel worse in the first week but it gets better after that. You don’t have to stay miserable. Please seek a good doctor to talk to and to talk about meds. Best of luck on your healing journey.

Those wondering.. if you ever read this.. as everyone says it effects everyone differently. For me I had no side effects (other than feeling tired), NOR improvement in my depression/anxiety. I feel "ok" overall but nothing one way or the other.. And my sex drive hasn't changed and it hasn't effected me poorly when drinking.
