My brother used to have a motorola rockr. People wouldn't get it now but having music on your phone was a HUGE thing back then because getting radio on your phone alone used to be a selling point. My brother had the one where keys would disappear to display ipod buttons when you clicked the music button. I still remember the awe i felt when i saw tech like that for the first time. Today, even folding phones don't strike my fancy.

@@buda3d2007 Man, nokia used to make the most wackiest of phones. My uncle had one that ran gba games, then there was the one that looked like O symbol in nokia, then my friend had one that looked like a camcorder, his dad had one that was like a laptop, then nokia's Xpressmusic line of devices. It was was very experimental but somehow they kept at it. The great thing was that they were all repairable. You could easily access the battery and change it if you wanted. It was all intricately built with microscopic screws. The smartphone that I use now is put together with glue. What times are we in. Can you imagine that? There's a good chance that all that old tech is sitting in a plastic heap somewhere or maybe recycled and now lost to time.

"today even folding phones don't strike my fancy" That's exactly how I feel, I was a kid in the 90s and early 2000s and tech was more exciting. Now we're accustomed to everything.

As a Graphic and Motion Designer for almost 30 years, and having bought the Original 2007 iPhone, is mesmerising to see and hear Tony Fadell describe Jobs on taking "the oposite marketing road". So often, MKT dept. only confuses and gets in the way, and this very time, Jobs aced the way it presented that really "Revolutionary Product". Everybody got hugely surprised at the possibilities of having all 3 devices in one. The rest was history. Those where the real innovation days for Apple.
@edwinschaap5532
@edwinschaap5532 Жыл бұрын
The fun thing about the presentation was that there was a big applause for the “widescreen iPod with touch controls” and the “revolutionary mobile phone” because that is what everybody was familiar with. The third “breakthrough internet communicator” only got some small applause because people had no idea what that ment. Looking back, the internet communicator in your pocket was the big thing.

Why do so many entrepreneurs treat competition as the "bully in the playground"? They're all trying to do the same thing as the other which is to dominate the market. I'm not judging, but it's just interesting to me that some of the most intelligent people in the world are oblivious to their own in-group behaviour and hypocrisy. But from competition and tension comes creativity and innovation so is it just a necessity?

I'm good with you sharing an opinion I don't agree with, but that doesn't mean I won't call you out on a public forum because you said something stupid. 3. Maybe try defending your actual position about why it is wrong to pay employees to do a job without making them famous. @@libertyprime9307 It's not a fair deal when engineers and developers lost their jobs, got divorced and had to go through a tumultous time to create something but Steve Jobs got to be called the genius behind it. Yes, he dreamed it but it was the engineers and developers who made it a reality. It is well documented that it was a nightmarish situation for the developers and engineers. So it is not manufactured outrage, he was just stating facts. Yes, he thanked them but it doesnt take away from the fact that they went through a great deal of struggle. I know he is a hero to most people but he did put those scientists, engineers and developers through hell.
