Lexie the Golden Retriever mix - 2 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Lexie the 18 month old Golden Retriever Cross has returned home after her two week stay.
Lexie was initially rescued from the streets abroad. Unfortunately the family that took her on found her too difficult to handle so Lexie was moved again to her current owners.
Due to her past her owners did not know what to expect from her so after having her for two weeks sent her to us not only to make sure she gets the best start with them but also to give them the continued support and guidance to implement the training.
During her stay we covered all the foundation obedience with Lexie and took her to new places and new situations to help her to generalise her training.
Lexie is a strong girl and had no awareness of loose lead walking or recall so we have taught her to disengage from anything she finds distracting and covered all her lead work exercises so that her owner can enjoy her time out in public with her.
Lexie is a lovely affectionate girl and keen to learn. Training is new to her so we will be taking it slowly to ensure we keep her in a positive emotional state whilst making progress.
