I love Leonid and Friends, Hindley Street Country Club and there offshoot singitlive. But the difference to me is that Lexington Lab Band covers the music as heard via CD. In fact it’s the only group I’m aware of that plays it so close to the original. The other groups mentioned, (which I also love), puts there own flavor to the music, personalizing it to there style. But that’s just my opinion, and we all know about opinions.

I was prepared to be disappointed just because covering Tears for Fears seemed perhaps a bridge too far for just about anyone. But as usual, LLB’S musicianship is top notch and you nailed it. And while no one is Roland and Curt, except, well, Roland and Curt, the vocals held their own. Very nicely done.

You know, I come by LLB ever so often to see what's new. I see Tears For Fears and I think to myself-"there's no way they can pull THAT off", but I reckon I'm going to hafta get it thru my thick skull that LLB can and will pull it off. I was so mesmerized by watchin' ya'll perform this classic from my young teen years that I went back through time to 1985. It never gets old LLB...thank you.

After seeing this video it occurs to me now how challenging the drumming is in this song. 12/8 is such an interesting time signature, and the off rhythm cadence between the two hands requires serious concentration to not totally mess it up. But Mr. McQ is up to the task, as always!!
