Taeyang's group Big Bang is a direct senior to Blackpink from the same YG Ent. Big Bang is also widely regarded as king of kpop that inspired a lot of the current generation idols like BTS and BP. At their peak and till this day they are still regarded as the king of kpop and are highly influential. For example, superstars like Jimin and Lisa both are more than willing to collab when he calls, and this video as well actually gathers some of the most sought after dancer in the market right now (Noze, Just Jerk Bros, Leejung, Kwon twins) and they all would happily answer his call to work with him. His personal best solo track would be the ballad "Eyes, Nose & Lips", some personal fav are "Wedding Dress" & "Wake me up" For Big Bang, although they are generally well known for their out of this world bangers like "Fantastic Baby" or "Bang Bang Bang" - I actually prefer some of their more melodic slowed down stuff and ballads like "Loser" , "Still Life", and "Last Dance" p.s: check out the leader (G-Dragon)'s solo work.. he is considered a genius song producer and is the ultimate male idol icon. "Without You" features Rose before she debuts, "Black" features Jennie before she debuts as well. Personal favourite of mine from him are "Untitled, 2004", "Who You? So you’ve been introduced to TAEYANG twice through his collaborations. As many people has mentioned in the comments, Taeyang is part of one of the biggest groups in K-POP..part of the 2nd generation idols and basically one of the biggest influence to many 3rd and 4th generation idols.. BIG BANG. BIG BANG made their debut under YG in 2006!! But actually blew up in popularity in 2008, with “Lies” and “Haru Haru”. Taeyang is the main vocalist and main dancer of the group. He has been called Korean’s Usher, Ne-Yo, and Chris Brown. At that time, he basically was one of the best dancers in K-POP! He was also well known for his r&b kind of music, but as he got older he experimented a lot with his music. Fun fact: In Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga” MV which was released in 2013, there was a handful of YG trainees that got to dance in the MV. WINNER’s Taehyun and Mino, IKON’s BI and Bobby, and BLACKPINK’s Lisa. So, it’s literally full circle for Lisa! She got be in Taeyang’s MV before debuting and now BLACKPINK exploded and continues to pave the way for K-POP and she gets to collaborate with Taeyang again. ❤️

When she was a trainee, Lisa appeared as a backup dancer in a couple of Taeyang's videos. He and his group Big Bang were mentors and inspirations to Blackpink back in their trainee days. Jennie and Rose appeared before their debut as collaborative singers in songs by G-Dragon, Taeyang's co-member in Big Bang, so the groups have history together. Big Bang basically broke up when the members had to do their military service. Four of the five members came back after and worked together, but it looks like they are all going solo now

just a little background info. Taeyang as you heard is from Big Bang. He did a solo project, RINGA LINGA, in 2013 Lisa was still a trainee at this time, but she was a back up dancer on this track. She had a scarf over her face as to not let her identity be shown before debute in 2016. But you can tell it is her from her silhouettes. fast forward to Shoong, and Lisa is Featured. what a milestone for Lisa, sure she is Main dancer GG, BlackPink yada yada, When she is featured in Taeyang - Shoong, this is big. both are solid dancers and singers. This combo is fire.

As you would have read in the comments, Taeyang is part of Big Bang, one of the best and most famous 2nd gen kpop groups. He is also an accomplished soloist. He is also married to a Korean actress and now has a kid (just a fun fact 😊). I am sure you have read in the comments about Lisa and Taeyang’s history from way back when Lisa was still a YG trainee. But you might also have read people suggesting you check out one of his songs “Eyes, Nose, Lips”. This song is one of Rosé’s favorites (yes, your BP bias! 💗) and she has covered this song in their 2019 world tour.

Taeyang (from the group Big Bang) is considered one of the top stars of "2nd Generation" Kpop. Blackpink's Lisa and BTS's Jimin are two of the hottest stars of "3rd Generation" Kpop. It just shows how big of a star Taeyang is that he can basically just get in touch with stars like Lisa and Jimin and say "hey, you wanna do a collab"... and it happens without any hesitation from them. Such a fun collab to watch! And it's very rare to see that kind of extensive interactive dancing in Kpop videos between male and female performers.

He had to reintroduce himself to fans with collaborations. He’s still in BIG BANG, and BIG BANG is still under YG Entertainment. It’s just TOP, Taeyang, and Daesung decided to sign with different management companies. If and when BIG BANG decides to have another comeback in the future, those members are free to promote and do group activities without breaching contract with their current management company/label. It’s becoming a very common situation for more male idol groups..especially for 2nd gen idols..Taecyeon is in a different company, but still participates in 2PM group activities. BLOCK B Zico has his own company, but will still do BLOCK B group activities when all members are done with military services. 👍👍👍

@@jasonelli Technically, that's true. I guess only time will tell whether they are really still going to be active as a group. I have a feeling they may have some "reunion" type songs in the future, but I doubt that they will release any group albums. Their last comeback song under YG actually sounded like a farewell song. Seungri is probably never coming back (but may be in some reunion thing years from now). TOP doesn't seem very interested in being active as a group. Literally none of them are under the same label anymore and only GD remains at YG (even though The Black Label is close enough to YG that we can think of Taeyang still sort of being at YG). Big Bang haven't formally disbanded. But they're kind of in a similar situation to SNSD (kind of retired, but still available for occasional reunion stuff)...but even more so. At least nearly all of the SNSD members are still under the same label.

You should definetly check more Taeyang and his group BigBang. The kpop you see today is very influenced by Bigbang. All these colabs are actualy just Taeyang colecting his fans . BigBang members are the idols of the idols . Lisa left Thailand and went to Korea because of BigBang and Taeyang was there the day she audition at YG . BigBang members helped train the BlackPink girls. Taeyang is Jimin's idol and he spend years study and practice on Taeyang songs. BTS members in general are BigBang fans . Most idols are .
