BigBang has debuted back in 2006 and they are known as the Kings of Kpop. They’re from the 2nd Gen (BTS and Blackpink are from the 3rd Gen) and they still are one the biggest influences to kpop idols from newer generations. They are the ones who made k-pop what it is today, and I’m talking music influences, fashion, hair, music videos, songwriting, lightsticks, etc… everything. BTS and Blackpink have both been opened about how much BB has influenced them (you should check Suga’s interview with Taeyang where he talks about this). You should also check their live performances. They are seriously the best k-pop group live. Their energy and stage presence is unmatchable.

bigbang is a legendary band, of course, at the moment bts and blackpink are more famous and popular, but bigbang is a band whose songs have grown a whole generation of k-pop fans, among the members of bts and blackpink and many other modern k-pop groups there are those for whom the members of bigbang were (and even now are) idols and role models.

Yes definitely check out Big Bang!! Many idols these days look up to them such as Bts, BP, Stray Kids, and many more. He also collab with Jimin from Bts with the song Vibe that came out in January this year. Do check it out. For BigBangs recommendations you guys should check out Bang Bang Bang, Fantastic baby, f**k It, Sober, Loser, If You, Haru Haru and Last Dance. But their live performances is where it’s at. Since it was more back in the days there’s no English sub to their MVs just a heads up but do search it up with English subs. I also recommend checking out some of Taeyangs solos such as Good Boy with G- Dragon (their group leader) , Wedding dress, Eyes, Nose, Lips, Where you at, only look at me. Bigbang was the first idol group of YG Entertainement, BlackPink label . They took the company from basement offices and near banckrupcy to one of the biggest labels in the industry. The group changed kpop to the core . The first real rapline , GD debut as a rapper at 13 , TOP came from the underground clubs . The first to write produce their own music . Brought freedom of creation to kpop and gave idols the possiblility to be more than company puppets. They proved solo careers are possible without disband. All members are successful solo. The first international award MTV Europe 2011, first large scale world tour Alive 2012 . They influenced everything including not only how kpop sounds , music is made but how people look or dress . They are the idols of idols and the reason over half of artists joined the industry. Lisa went from Thailand to Korea because of BigBang and Taeyang was there the day she audition. Their influence goes beyond kpop and Korea into art in general , fashion , dance, all creative fields. The members are coming back after a 6 years hiatus . Taeyang is the first to drop a new album . For BigBang i highly recommend live performances. You can start with their performance at MAMA Awards 2015 because it has 3 songs in different styles. Watch them sing Sober during their Made tour concert in Malaysia.
