Rather than having a boring interior for a daily driver, it was time to spice things up. Not that Lexus interior is bad, but it is lacking modern revision so I am taking matters in my own hands and adding the ambient lighting kit which is perfect for any vehicle! Great vid! Wanna ask, do you know how to install those pop-up hood defeat thing? It costs so much for dealer to reset whenever the hood pops up due to any minor contact of the bumper. Installing that pop-up hood defeat would be so useful for all. Thanks..

Yo I have a question, do you know why my strips won’t go in all the way for the door panel?

its a tight space you really have to force it in there. If youre really struggling to get it flush you can remove the screws on the back panel that hold the pieces together and it will create a lot of space to work with.

Hi! I just bought a 2019 A220. I thought it had ambient lighting but it doesn’t😞 do you think it’s a good idea to have some one install a kit? Or do I take the risk of messing something up on my car? If not is the a lighting kit that you recommend for the A220? Thanks in advance 😊

Hey, honestly it would depend on pricing for myself to have someone install it vs the cost of the product. The product I have is universal to any car, you would have to find power sources for the doors and dash though. There is a possibility others have done it on your car on forums or even youtube to help guide you. If you do go through a shop just ask if they have previous work done and research the kit they use so the lights have different modes, colors, and even brightness throughout the strip.

Hello! Do you have any idea why it doesn't give me enough current in any of the sockets at the doors? The factory LED in the handle is lost when I connect it, I only have 2 or 3 V, I tried all the sockets on the window, on the speaker, it only works on the light bulb that lights up under the door, that one has 12v continuously when you open the door. Depends on the price. Usually I go off of labor to product cost, I wouldn’t pay more in labor than the part but it is tedious so that might be the case.

I would double check all the wires you tapped into and make sure they’re secure. Also make sure the exposed positive and grounds are not touching each other.

I’ve seen videos that look like this kit but they can do trailing (a light mode that could for example send a red light from one side of the strip to the others or fade from left to right and stuff like that) you didn’t show that in the video but can this kit do that? Or do you need to order a different one? I don’t wanna order the wrong one.

First of great video, someone who actually explains how to tap into the door. Most videos skip these sort of things, and just show them adding the led strips to the door without explaining how it is being powered on. Your video has been very helpful. At : 23:18 what is that tool name you used to cut the wire and expose the copper part? My car has no door lights, but does have window switch. I was a bit confused how you knew which wire was the positive/ground?

Much appreciated Steven! I was looking for videos on this too and was running into the same issue where people were just showing off the lighting itself or just having it plugged into the 12v. Glad I could help. The tool I used to cut the wire was an xacto knife, you can use any knife or razer blade. Or even a actual wire splitter but I just used what was handy lol. I was reading up forums on which wires had power since people were doing the mirror light mods, the window switch on this car is illuminated so there was a power source for it and It was a lot of trial and error. You can use a volt meter to see which wire would be live when the car is on and off when the car is off also.

Hey thanks and no problem! Yes they are led and not fiber optic, the light output is even throughout. Let me follow up on the link sorry it should’ve been a buying link I will add a comment after this when I follow up with the seller. The dash one is pretty long but these come as a kit so that would have to be up to the seller if they can add an extra dash strip.

Hey man, I'm well hope you are too! Hmm mine didn't have that headlight wire but im guessing that is one that turns on when the lights are on... did you have the fuse wire? That is the one that should have it powered on.

Right! Yeah all of the strips and lights are optional, if you only want strips you can do that and just not plug in the other ones.

no problem man, nothing additional had to be done, just make sure your connections are solid, clicked in to the module and that your wire taps are making good contact with eachother. Usually loose wire/connection would be the issue. If that’s still the case i would switch your positive and negative wires on the taps to see if it was wired wrong by the manufacturer of the lights.

Yes its universal, the ES doors are larger but I had to use less of the strips so it will be perfect for the ES!

Its plugged into its own black box also. The doors are synced with the front ones so they are the same color

@@KennyVo Thanks. So if I’m correct all the doors have their own little black box for the door lights and handle lights. All the footwell lights goes to one plug because the extension cable. The main box only had two light source cables. So if the footwell lights take one of them I only have one left for my main dashboard led whilst I have two of them🥲 What can I do for that. Do you think its possible for me to connect the two dashboard led strips with the t-clamps you have used and use one plug for those two strips?

It is red, that is to the fuse. ground is black and grounded to a bolt on the metal surface

And they said it goes to the ACC box but in your video I see you have the red one and then an orange like it went to the side and I see that you have the black grounded. Did not, seller is from overseas where this is distributed from and does not have a store front in the states or Amazon so they use that site, I got my carplay unit from the same seller with the same site.

Thanks a bunch Michael! It was a tedious job but well worth it and completely modernizes the interior of our vehicles. yes you can add this to the RX350, the kit is universal so its meant for any car. The install and wiring is practically the same for Lexus.

Help bruh. So you have 4 dor modules wired to the OEM wires which have power all the time, right? And then only the master controller wired so it will be powered only when ingition is on, am i right?

All the wires I wired to have power when the ignition is on, the door lights and dash shut off when the car is off and turns on when car is on
