I watched several videos on how to remove this console cover to replace my shift cover on my 2011 IS250C. This video is the best. However, on the 2 silver trim pieces, he does not state to pull up slightly then pull straight back to remove these pieces. In his video, he just pulls on the trim and it just comes off without much further discussion. Upon reassembly, he does not address these 2 silver trim pieces where you need to push the trim forward rather than down. On the plus side, I do like his discouraging the use of tools and use your finger nails instead. Several other videos say to use a screw driver or trim tool but those tools are just not required and will mar the plastic. Also, other videos state to put the shifter in neutral but this video does not state this. I did put the shifter in neutral and all worked well. I would rank this video a 9 out or 10. Thanks for the help.

I been taking my dash apart for years. Even when it was brand new back in 2007, never used a tool on those trim pieces. They are so easy to pull off and many people are just gun shy about it. All newer Toyota are same with trim parts. Just pull.

Awesome video and thank you! I'm having the same issue with my 2004 Mercury Sable LS. Half of the slider was just "missing" one day. The problem is I am unable to locate only the slider piece. The entire gear assembly is for sale on eBay but I only need the flat rubber/plastic part as all else is intact. Any ideas where I might find one without having to buy entire part? Oh and Amazon has them, just not one that fits my car make/model. Thank you!

It’s pretty easy only one clip near the top. Hardest part is removing the window belt molding without damage. If you know the technique it’s easy, look up Lam Le IS-F video where he shows how to remove it.
