@@traxxi2003 If you’re referring to the rear camera I would have to agree with you. There is a way to upgrade your camera but it would require you to replace your oem navi to aftermarket unit to utilize an output compatible with all the add on camera out on the market.

Did Beatsonic fix the issue where the front camera becomes disabled if the battery is disconnected, requiring you to pull the dash to get it to work again? That was a deal breaker for me.

Hey Artem, I reached out to Beat-Sonic and they replied within 10 minutes. They responded with: With the data that we have collected, we know that this issue is only affected by certain vehicles: 2014-2016 Lexus IS, 2014-2016 Lexus RC, 2013-2020 Lexus GS, 2014-2019 4 Runner, 2020-2022 Tacoma. We have not had any feedback from GX owners yet. Our current SKU still affects the mentioned vehicles. New module with the fix should be released at the end of the year. So Artem, with that being said, GX owners have not seen this type of issue as of yet, me included.

This is really great video Bob Two questions, which one am I supposed to select for GX interface bundle? I only see a none parking sensor bundle option but I have parking sensors.... also, can I get OE button for GX that they sell? Would that work?

The good news first. Yes the oe switch will work and is preferred. The bad news. The GX interface is only compatible with non-park assist trims. I have not seen or heard any new updates to this as of yet.

Hey Bob, I am not sure if routine wires via the grommet this way is good for maintaining an OE-like water seal. Maybe creating a new hole is better, but I could be wrong.

Creating a new hole causes exposed metal and wire chafing. My wire lies up against painted metal and rubber. The rubber boot is not left loose after the install. It’s squeezed back into place and still creates a nice seal. Another option is to poke a hole in your rubber boot and slide your wire thru. Of course we’re also not talking about submerging your suv in a River either so this is mainly for normal driving.

​@@GXBOB Yep, to clarify I was referring to poking a hole in the rubber, not metal. Learned the "poke the rubber" trick from my ex, to whom I now owe a lot of dough in child support. On a side note, I used the rear door grommet/sleeve to run my dashcam wire through. That thing was tight.. had to ram in some metal wire to fish it through.

32:14 hello. My ‘17 GX does have a front camera already, how’re the video quality is poor and seems like the frames per second is really poor too. My wife’s Sienna has a better camera than the Lexus. Question: do you know if I can get the camera you suggested and simply plug it into the existing wiring for the stock Lexus camera?

That’s a great question. Unfortunately I don’t have an oem front callers system to test your theory. I may attempt to do the rear camera in the near future because that’s another issue people have brought up.

Hi! I think this can me knocked out within 2 hours if you’ve taken apart the center console before. Its hard to gauge since there was a lot of stop and go for filming. I didn’t disconnect the battery because all of it was plug and play. None of the open wires were live wires. The red wires i was splicing were accessory wires and they had an in-line fuse.

I used the red (18-22 gauge). Always good to have a complete kit of different gauge connectors at your disposal just in case.

Yo Derek, I know exactly what you're talking about. The front cameras do perform way better than the oem rear. I get a pretty good fish eye wide angle 180 degree view. Only thing is i've been so used to my rear view camera and its parameters, i have to relearn the front view camera's point of view. They both differ giving you a complete sense of distance, at least for me.

Gilbert, i think it only felt long because i had to retake shoots multiple times and capture different angles often. If i had to do it without filming....i would guess 2 hours because i've taken the vehicle apart so many times already.

Hey Brett, your best bet is use the video i made below that removes the rear view camera and check closely on its wiring and plug. You can also go to the extent of removing the rearview camera itself since the video also demonstrates how to take apart the tailgate panels. I say this because you will need to find out what type of plug or wiring is required and match it up with any aftermarket unit you plan to purchase. I wouldn't worry about damaging your Lexus electrical by plugging in an aftermarket camera since the oem uses the same technology and signal to receive video feed. I can not confirm or deny its compatibility since i don't have your generation GX. ( Wish i did though). Good luck. Reverse will always show reverse regardless. If your front camera is activated, it’ll only go reverse if you switch to reverse from the switch

The system and configuration is different than that of a 2014-2018. 2019-2020 added 360 cameras. 2021 completely changed infotainment system and added carplay. So to answer your question, i seriously doubt the config/plugs, and wiring would be the same as in my tutorial.
