Hi great channel you have. I'm currently shopping around for a 2010-2013 GX640 and was wondering if I wanted to build something similar to what you have, should I be shopping for a base model to save money and not be looking at the premium models since it seems the electronic adaptive suspension, suspension selection (Comfort / Sport suspension), and height control features on the premium models will all need to be deleted if I understand right?

The premium model has a few other creature comforts as well. Heated seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive headlights, rear seat heaters, front heated and cooled seats, remote start, headlight washers, and most important of all, that 17 speaker Mark Levinson Sound System. Can you share some of the other details related to the airbag delete and removal of stock shocks since the Premium has electronic adaptive suspension, suspension selection (Comfort / Sport suspension), and height control? Details (if any) such as removing fuses and any other components (ex. control related connections to the shocks) that control these systems to eliminate any dashboard problem light indicators or computer / system control problems? Also, did you recalibrate your speedometer? If so, by who / how was that done? See you on the trail.

The medium springs are much firmer but it still rides like a Lexus. Very smooth on the freeway and off.

LOVE this build. From your experience, does the all black exterior soak in too much heat? I just sold a all black Subie with tints and it got wayyy too hot in the summer. I'm looking for a GX to ultimately overland but can't commit to black again.

How was the ride after installing the lift kit? I had a fj cruiser with a icon lift. The ride was very smooth.

The ride is firmer than stock but still very smooth. No vibration or anything like that. Feels more planted.

@@lexusgxlife6328 I just picked up a 2010 gx460. I am still debating to stay with 18s or go 17s. At this time, I added 33/12.5/18 mt tires. The gx came with a leveling kit. However, I am looking to go icons coilovers in front and emu medium springs in the rear with icon shocks. Are you seeing a differents with the upper controller arms?

Great to see another gx enthusiast new subscriber here brother same idea here already started with the mods, not touching suspension yet but need to upgrade wheel and tires I’m going with the white rhino Cinco and Nitto ridge grappler’s, and was thinking 275/60/18 but then you mentioned the Rubbing issue ;should I stay with 265?

Since this video, I’ve upgraded to Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/18 (34 inch). I like the look much better and I’ve also had a body mount chop with extra trimming. No rubbing issues. Thanks for watching.

Yes. Amazingly, they are able to be mounted beneath the frame with one screw holding each light. Perfect fit.

Hi Brendan. My rig is a bit heavier than stock with the modifications. I can get just over 300 miles on one tank. Definitely not a fuel sipper :)

2013 Premium. CC was only offered on the Canadian models at the time. The retrofit is quite simple however. Plug n Play. Thanks for watching.

Mark Miguel Crawl Control is plug and play. The unit costed me $399. Multi Terrain Select is a separate module. Less expensive but more difficult to get to as it is above and left of the glove box behind the dashboard. Both can be installed in about 45-60 minutes.

275s, yes. I have upgraded to 285/70/18, a 34 inch tire and it doesn't fit. I have ordered a Rigd Ultraswing for that purpose.

No, I ordered it online along with the MTS module. The MTS is the most difficult to install due to its Location above and to the left of the globe box. Both are plug and play. Thanks for subscribing. I had some rubbing issues initially but had a BMC done at Nexgen in Murrieta. No issues now. Wish I would have gone with 285/70/18 instead. We need to get together and wheel. Temecula Overland has a group and we meet monthly.
