Best suv by far the gx is a secret model everyone goes for a 4 runner but by the time you add every feature it was almost as expensive as a gx. We decided to go for a gx best car I've ever owned and if you baby it you can get 20+ mpg which is decent considering it's a v8

Looks like Northern Nevada. I spent most of my life in Las Vegas but now retired and in New Mexico. I own a 2019 GX that has been great. Bought it in 2021 and now has 50k miles. They're great rigs but keep an eye on your coolant reservoir. I've done a few mods including a Dobinsons mild inch and a half lift springs and shocks. Metaltech sliders, GX470 17 inch wheels with 265 70 17 Falken Wildpeak tires. I've owned several Land Cruisers in the past and the GX is a great smaller version with the same build quality.

Congrats on your purchase. I have a 23’ GX460 and absolutely love it. I’m a middle aged guy, so this vehicle is great for me. I’m not an off roader so keeping her pretty much stock. Cool video!

I have one and it’s in the shop at the moment, for the valley plate, trans seal, and transfer case reseal at at about 159k miles. All under warranty. Hopefully after the issues are fixed, the car can go for another 200k miles. Note I only had the car for 6months, so these issue were already occurring and were not fixed but the previous owner. I love the car and it’s my forever car so I think it’s worth it in the long runz

@@keltecdan check as many for sale websites as you can to see lots of options! I checked 4-5 different sites regularely and waited for a good price and a vehicle with good history! Don't be afraid to haggle too! If you look carefully and don't need the top trim, you can likely find one under $15k that is under 200k miles.

My dad gave me his 2013 toyota prado which is similar to this but has a v6 4.0 engine. Best comfortable and durable car not too big like a landcruiser but also not small, i love it. Congrats, man. i hope your channel grows if that's your goal but still it will take you to many places and make beautiful memories. ❤

Thanks for the review, what stereo upgrade unit did you use, is it a GROM or another brand and how do you like it? I have been researching the GX for a while and I think the infotainment is an upgrade I would want to make. Thanks again!

@@_Jheee_ it's a grom VLite. It's definately worth it. It glitches a little every once in a while, but not enough to make it not worth it. Definately the cleanest way to get modern stereo features.

I want to know what your thoughts are on the LX570. Would you have gotten it if it was in your budget?

@@A_guan I didn't do a ton of research on the Lx570. I didn't consider it for price as you mentioned, but also the larger exterior size and heavier weight along with the significantly worse fuel mileage didn't seem worth the penalty to get some of the nice features of the LX.

Only down side is Fuel economy as it only uses 93 octane

What about premium fuel required, and V8 gas mileage? Did you consider that?

@@unknown-cf9rd Thankfully my commute is short enough that fuel mileage/cost isn't a huge factor for me. I was willing to sacrifice fuel cost for all the features I wanted. Plus I'm willing to risk it running non-premium fuel. Enough other people have done it and the GX460 engine is close enough to the Tundra engine for me to feel confident doing it. Not to mention there aren't many 7 seat SUV's in my price range with significantly better MPG. It's really just the cost of a large, heavy, used vehicle.

Hey I really enjoyed watching your video. Quick question - I drive 80 miles a day for work, would you say the GX is a bad idea considering the poor gas mileage? How is the gas mileage for you?

@@markm7435 I get around 16-17 mpg in mine so it's not great. Fuel mileage is probably the biggest drawback to the GX. If it were my money I would definately consider something better on gas. Unless you can't live without the other features of the GX. Maybe two cheaper vehicles would serve you better if you can deal with the logistics. A commuter with a nice stereo and good mpg, and a weekend adventure beater!

@@ParkinginflI don't run premium because I'm a cheap-ass and I havnt noticed any real MPG difference between the two. I have seen arguments for both sides. Lexus recommends premium but the Tundra with the nearly identical engine does not. For now I stick to my bonehead strategy.
