Eventually you will gonna lift it , if like off roading your air suspention will fail . My friend wanted to keep too but 2 times fixing it had him remove it .

It is an aftermarket control arm.

I'm assuming his aftermarket wheels with a different offset pulled the tires further out from the UCAs and prevented the rubbing. That looked like a stock UCA to me.

@@terrenceoboyle1580 you are correct. Those have more negative offset so they are further from the uca and all that. The stock gx wheels are tucked pretty good.

Lookin good, got the trd wheels too. Done anything mechanical or repairs recently? Does the width or height matter more? Ex (I've got the same wheels) if I went with a 265/80r17 would it still rub or would I gain enough (10mm to .4") space? Perhaps 255 pizza cutters?

So changing out the bumper will always give clearance ? I'm looking at red dog fabrication front bumper.

Every offroad bumper I've seen has more clearance than the factory bumper. I'm sure the manufacturer would be happy to confirm this or provide details for you.

The wheels are from a Trail Edition 4Runner.

Where did you find the rims? and is it the same offset as the original rims? did the ride change much from stock?

The wheels are from a Trail Edition 4Runner. They have an additional .5" offset for a 1" net increased track width.
