I’ve driven all three engines of the current generation, I also own a previous gen IS250C (and before that had the sedan) so I’m no stranger to the Lexus brand. The turbo just didn’t do it for me, I felt it was missing the smoothness and quietness of the other two engines, really didn’t live up to the Lexus brand in my opinion. I agree that the 3.5 V6 is a stunning machine especially in F-Sport guise, but the Hybrid really surprised me and would be my pick if I was buying another one today.
@chasingcars4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I'm usually a two-litre turbo man through and through (for example, I prefer the 330i to the M340i in the BMW lineup) - but this engine isn't amazing. Go the V6 or the hybrid.

Everyone talks about the reliability of Lexus. If Lexus is not even reliable no one would consider this brand at all. The Lexus IS 300 (2020) is basically a Toyota 'very sexed up' and named to fulfill its original purpose , and as the name doesn't just imply, but inherently screams, 'L'uxury 'EX'port to 'US' dealers/customers. That said (Tom's also fond of this qualifier), Lexus cars are beautifully finished high end exquisite examples of Toyota cars. If you want, try that glass based finish on a new Toyota and you'll begin to see what I mean.
