Me and my parents own a very rare IS200 Sport which is the TTE Edition. It has a huge exhaust so it sounds amazing in first first and second, and Its a beautiful metallic blue.

An alternative to strapping a turbo would be conversion of 1UZ 4 litre V8 out of LS400 so you can have all the power and even better noise. I have said conversion and results are mental.

Does the original aisin 6speed gearbox hold Up? I have also a gearbox from is200 but whith a Mitsubishi engine in front, I'am about to put it in a 1979 Opel kadett C (maby Vauxhall chevette in your country?) It would been interesting to hear if the gearbox hold Up for the turbo-power!💪 It's a tiny little gearbox but I'am thinking that My 900kg kadett is also tiny😂 Cheers from northern Sweden 🍻

I just wanted to note that he is probably going to bend rods sooner or later, anywhere above psi you can only hope the engine doesn't blow (too soon) I am preparing my is200 to get turbod but I'm going for at least 420hp at the crank and this will involve completely rebuilding the engine with forged internals, which is necessary to run more than 240hp without it eventually blowing up btw the info on the piggyback that is used would be very nice

you need to do a bit more research dude, they can handle a fair bit more than you think. no piggy back is needed for 6psi either.

confused bars with psi, has been some time since I dug into this thought that the 0.6 bar (save limit) I read was 6psi still this would eventually make 10psi~0.7bar your limit, especially without a good piggy back you're gonna get some over boost personally I feel the way to go is different engine or forged internals, enough stories of people bending rods at 240-250hp and an is200 deserves better.

They're 2JZ out the factory. Mostly because lexus have some cars made by Toyota.

How does lowering the boost pressure allow the turbo to spool up quicker? I thought turbo lag was a given. Bigger turbo = bigger lag but I've herd you can help a turbo spool up easier but not quicker as its a given (physics).

I think it's more likely to be standard issue and a pure coincidence, given that the number is 531 or 351 or whatever not 300 or 400 or 500 etc... It's possible that it could be a cheaper private plate but it is a W prefix so more likely to be standard issue though not necessarily :-)

Well, I saw a 2JZ swap on youtube which seemed very fast, but never seen one in person (it's hard to make swaps road legal over here in Hungary)... I'm not even sure if it's possible to fit a 2JZ-GTE in an IS200, I assume it's not much different from the IS300. I also watched a GS400 "one take" ytd, and it seemed like the slowest car on Smoking Tyres channel :D so idk.. maybe better if I just put together more money and buy an Evo

it's a 1G-FE.. factory engine with a turbo bolted to the side. running 6psi is my first stage. Jamie can have the car again once it's on its second stage with 10psi. 😉
