This video was PERFECT!!! Tutorial starts at 4:00 for those of you in a rush. I am not a mechanic 👩🏽‍🔧 but this was a simplest fix! A push of a button literally 😆 It’s 93° out here and the sun was blazing 🥵 My Lexus Dealership is an hour away. You saved me so much time & MONEY!!! I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial!!!

This video was very helpful. My 2010 IS 250C was stuck in the open position overnight. Next morning it started to drizxle lightly My husband and I was able to follow the video and close the top. Thank you very much.

According to comments below, it may be the factory fault My story, that I Opened hardtop, riden, and when returned back - it didn’t close. What I have done - remove battery to reset, depress trunk button in glove box - no result. And also no any DTC issue. After connected Techstream, and found that it reacts for opening, for closing - no. So I done everything like in video - and it works properly Thank you, man. You saved my money and nerves😃

Thanks for sharing.... just bought a 2010 with 84K miles and this video intrigued me. So at the end it was just a loose connector to the convertible switch, good to know that you did not have to spend so much or any money at all to fix this issue. I had to replace all my original TPMS sensors which set me back $60 per sensors plus tax and labor because my warning light came on this morning, expected this as they were only set to last 7-10 yrs when the batteries go out.

You do not need to go to dealership, just get a new switch and replace it, easy fix.

Thanks goodness someone finally post this type of videos. I’ve been searching for it. I have a similar problem.mine won’t close sometimes. Can you advise me how to diagnose like you’re using your laptop? Where to buy the wire (that connects from your laptop to the car) and if that is the software (name ). Or if it would be helpful can you out all the info int link description?

The software called TIS Toyota, you can get from Amazon. My problem is the Open/Close switch had bad connection. You can try the same as what I did, open the dash and re-connect the connector. if it works, then you are OK, if not, you might need to use TIS to scan your ISC if there is no trouble coed, then you just need to order a new switch PN 84860-53010.

I picked up an 2011 IS250c at 88K miles. I just preemptively ordered a spare switch just in-case... Seems to be a common problem, easy fix. Do you still own this car, and do you daily drive it? I drove a 2009 IS250 sedan up to 220K back in college. When I sold it, it was still running like a clock, only a worn interior and TPMS light. So my only concern is maintaining this hard-top. Would love to push this car to at least 140K.

:( my 250c top isn't opening. techstream is showing B2536 "luggage courtesy switch" i clear the code and the top works but then when i restart the car it comes back. :( i cant find anything online about this. pleassee help me :)

I have same 2010 IS350c , when I brought it top work, when I drive to home doesn't work, When I click open, I only here a click sound. nothing happened. I also makesure the back trunk extend was in the position ,checked in manual book. I will use the usb toyota diagnostic like you ,to see.

So the wife's IS350C started having similar problems... we started to take things apart as the video shows but instead, if it was a loose connection, I thought, what the heck... smack the dash just above the switch... guess what... it worked... it's been working... so we'll keep smacking if it continues until we buy a switch (or sell the car)... car's been great by the way otherwise... had it since 2009...
