Thanks mate, I think the factory installed UV blocking tint is what has kept the interior from ageing.

Damn, for a 1998, this car is modern! The self adjusting mirrors for reversing are cool!
@KevRalph5 жыл бұрын
I have the 2000 LS400 which is the same car but my mirrors don't change when going in reverse.. maybe that was specific for the Canadian model such as his or maybe I haven't figured out how to do it..oh well

hey good video. just wanted to let you know the 98-99 was considered a ucf21 not a ucf20. it's the same chassis but like you said it is upgraded compared to the years before!
@s2000.5 жыл бұрын
actually, ucf21 means it has air suspension (and extra equipment in some markets) and ucf20 is the normal model with springs.

Hey man, loved the review. I don't know if youre familiar with the Subaru Legacy B4 RISK, but I am trying to decide between a Toyota Celsior (so this car basically) or a Subaru. I also live in Calgary and it will be my "first" car. I say that because I've been driving a FWD beater for a year now. Could you give me any help? Thanks

Hey nice car, really clean looking. I have a quick question where is the headrest adjustment button located on the LS400? Thanks.
@fpsColton9 жыл бұрын
Its on the side of the seat, the same switch you use to tilt the seat back, slide that up/down to adjust the headrest.

hey man, nice ride! Super clean too! Do you know what kind of wheels are those? Are they 16' from some newer LS model maybe? Thanks!
@fpsColton8 жыл бұрын
+IZZYMX5 Thanks for the comment! They were Mille Miglia, made in italy. 16" Wheel.

Damn, I have an Audi A4 2002 model and reading about this car makes me wanna buy it or trade my car for this one. The early model had a nice engine very quiet. I'm not sure if they kept the quality as in the first model so, you got one question here. I see that it eats 12.7 L from 100 km from your indicator, is that only from the highway?
@fpsColton10 жыл бұрын
I experienced between 9.5L/100km - 11L on the highway, not too bad. But during the middle of winter when I was warming the car up 10 min each morning and driving 5 min to work, I saw up to 18L/100km at times.. Still a great car if the only expense in owning it is fuel + insurance, I'm thinking about buying another one for this winter.

Nice consumption for a 4l engine. I'm liking the car more and more after resping how reliable it is.

hey I'm also in calgary and thinking of purchasing a 98 celsior. what kind of fuel consumption did you get in the car just driving in the city and what grade of fuel did you run ? also how did the car fare in the winter, can it manage a calgary winter ? did you run winter tires ? much appreciated
@fpsColton9 жыл бұрын
My use case for the majority of my ownership was winter driving, less than a few km each time. Overall I saw anywhere from 9.5L/100km to 15L/100km. That with the fact that I always run shell premium, the car was fairly expensive to fuel. The plus side is, you shouldn't have to spend much on repairs, and you'll be driving a really nice, reliable, safe, world class car. It was no worse than any turbo vehicle I've had. I did sometimes miss the 2jz over the 1uz, have you considered an aristo?

Did you ever figure out what the problem was with the balance control on the stereo? I have the same car with same stereo and the left channel occasionally cuts out and comes back on a few days later. I'm not sure where to start. Thanks!
@fpsColton7 жыл бұрын
The headunit needs to be repaired, there is/was a shop in the USA which specialised in repairing these nakamichi stereos but I'm not sure the name.
@jakedegazio86537 жыл бұрын
Thanks Man! I'm probably going to look into getting that fixed. Great Stereo when it works. Thanks for the reply!
