Have you repaired the dreaded valley coolant leak yet?
@ryannrjohnson2 жыл бұрын
My number 8 is leaking but I’m pretty sure it’s from the high pressure fuel line gasket giving a slight leak down on the spark plug seal. I’ve had the replacement gaskets a few months now so I guess I’d better replace at least the passenger side fuel gasket today before the weather starts getting cold. My local Lexus dealer has the spark plug gaskets for $11 dollars so I need to go pick one up as well.

Did your oil level light ever come on? My LS drinks oil but don’t ever have any types of oil on the ground or in the engine bay.

Hi, Thank you for your video, may I ask? -How many miles does your LS460 have? -What is the pump you are using to suck up the oil out of spark plug opening? Who makes that electric pump (model #) and how much did it cost you? Again, thank you for always posting well made and informative videos.
@friendnfamily90532 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thank you for watching and liking the video! Mine has about 210k miles. The pump I used is a typical 12v engine oil extractor pump that you can buy online for less than $25. I had it shown in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJuuamRrnKpkmNU

@@friendnfamily9053 Ah, ok. Thanks for info, On a LS460 with over 200k miles is not uncommon that car starts to leak fluids in several places, I know so, because I own a 2007 model with 108k miles, no leaks yet, but, had to replace, starter motor, front control arms and few other insignificant parts. I was able to watch your other video with electric pump, but I think, that it did NOT work very well for you....... keep up the good work on being a family man and raising the new generation the right, way respecting and honoring their elders, greetings from South Florida.

Thank you for your kind words! My daughter, who used to work with me on the Lexus, just went off to college starting her freshman year. Time is passing by so quickly for not to live a respectfully life. I use to remind her of the saying: “Respect the elderly and you will achieve longevity.”

@@friendnfamily9053 I know how you feel....., our youngest son, started University just a few months ago himself, unlike your daughter, our son attends classes locally, therefore, we can still keep an eye on him, provide & protect him and give him Godly advice, as parents, all we can do is to hope and pray that, what was taught to them when they were little, could help them navigate through life in this very selfish & cruel world when they are old enough to understand and find themselves alone & fend for themselves..... Faith IS very important in the transition of a child into adulthood, may The Lord protect your daughter AND show her the path to salvation of her everlasting soul AND give you (her Father) rest and assurance that she will be OK. Those are my most fervent wishes upon you and daughter..... .....and keep that LS460 still going.......

I didn’t know that I could replace the spark plug well seal so I did the whole valve cover gasket now that I put everything back together my car starts then dies at first I forgot to plug in camshaft and fuel pump for a bank 2 but now that everything is together it does the same thing sometimes it stays on for 30 seconds but 99% of the time it dies right away. I think it could be fueled but the car was working great before.

I think you need to replace the valve cover gasket.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. The valve cover gaskets are still in good condition, but will double check and replace them as needed.

Did you use carb cleaner for the spray?
@davispitts2 жыл бұрын
It's probably leaking from the bottom of the spark plug tube where the tube meets the head. Lexus doesn't sell the tubes without a whole cylinder head. I bet you the leak comes back.

Sir, Great Videos, are you a Lexus Mechanic, or did you learn to do this on your own???

Hi, thank you for asking! I have been working on car for 32 years. When you work on things for long + some engineering mind set, I think you can learn and figure things out on the fly.
