I have a lot of experience with the F82 M4 in my RCF CF/TVD. Since both cars are back from 2015 and despite what it seems from paper perspective, in real life I do very well against them as long as they are not heavily modified where the M car is on a different level. The M cars evolved since then and now the newer M3 like the G80/G82 competition models, they are a big leap forward.

Both great cars! I agree that bmw has definitely made some upgrades to their newer M cars and Lexus focus is not so much on the sports cars since their RX sell so well 😂

Performance wise the RCF won't able touching M4. Aftermarket support for M4 is way better, power gain per $ is also on the M4 side. The weight is another strike against RCF. The RCF is better in term of long term reliability and ease of maintenance (stupid simple as a Camry). Lexus always retain better resale value when come to used car market. The ML audio option in Lexus are def better than BMW HK. The amount of over engineering put into Lexus is unparallelly. To me if you have a reliable family vehicle and need a sport car get M4. If you want a car that do well all way around and doesn't have the financial mean to spend extra, get the RCF. Both are great car in their own way. It apple and orange whatever fit your needs man.

That's a great comparison! I totally agree with you. I got myself an RCF after comparing it to a few other options as it is a great all around car and reliable. But like you said, if power is what one would prefer, then the m4 is a great pick!

Against the F80 M4 from 2015, my RCF holds up very well in real life and track laps. I have had a lot of encounters and as long as it is within basic bolt on limits, it is very close. Being turbocharged, they have a huge advantage once you get into big mods. RCF being N/A high-revving, can be tuned up to 490 whp with bolt-ons and E85 tune, but the turbocharged cars can go 700+ whp. However, we get the sound and visceral experience of high rpm V8. Even a professional race car driver Randy Pobst had both within 3/10th of a second back to back in 2015. However, the new G80 competition M3/M4 are a newer generation and total beasts.

had a 16 m4, just traded for a 15 rcf. rcf is a different car in so many ways. its more of a gt car than a sports car. the car feels as if it was built from a solid piece of metal. cant compare the build quality. the m4 was faster, lighter, and way more common. inferior build quality, but not as bad as american crap. the dct for me was a let down. yes it shifts lightning fast, but for normal driving, and driving in traffic, it sucked. think of it as an automated manual. m4 is infinitely more tunable, and has a huge aftermarket. M4 sounds like ass no matter how badly you waste your money on an exhaust. pops are for kids i hate that sound.

Thanks for your input after owning both platforms! Good to know that the RCF has a better build quality and I agree with you that the m4 is a lot easier to tune and make it a fast car

The solid piece of metal comes from the very stiff chassis that feels like a brick even over uneven bumps.

Thing about lexus is the aftermarket support sucks do to the fact "most" people do not want to take away the biggest factor of there vehicles which is reliability. Look at the isf its just now starting get some aftermarket support. Lexus build quality is great but they are not tuner friendly thats why so lil tuners in the US. No real reviews on the SC kits only 2 minutes of pulls or dyno nunbers, not real driver reviews. If these had good amout of aftermarket support the price would never go down for the iSF,RFC,GSF,LC500. Easy over 200k mile with good Maintenance

I agree. The Lexus F platform definitely has a lot less tuning support than the M cars. But we get reliability out of it

@TheJMedia but don't get me wrong if someone can find the sweet spot for the RR supercharger around 600wph with lil head work can get that reline to 7500-7800. Looking/saving for spare motor and trans then I'll go SC route but only 575-650whp not going 700+ almost 800-875 at the crank to much for stock internals to unsafe
