When going into a new car showroom of the big german luxury car brands, I am always fascinated with apparent obsession of the sales persons with specs... all of it they trow at you. At the moment the mention the words “road-feel”, I stop them, and I say: I do not want to feel anything of the road, I want to be isolated from the elements as much as possible.. Then the defensive talk starts, where they try to convince you of the road holding, and performance. With a Lexus, like this RX, performance is not so important. It has to be adequate. Its all about comfort and safety. I am so glad that Lexus still build cars for a large group of people that want the maximum comfort, soft ride, low noise levels, beautifully build, combined with the highest possible reliability and safety.

the truth is apart from Rolls Royce and Bentley Lexus make the most comfortable cars to drive. Far much more comfortable than their German rivals and match them in luxury and quality as well. This Rx is awesome just like other Lexus cars and suv's. Then it's the most reliable brand in the world, u can't go wrong with a Lexus.
@samsonokoro50367 жыл бұрын
marc clarkson I'm sure u'll say Jaguar land rover is Indian too. That's just an absurd comment, being German owned doesn't mean it is German made. The entire craftsmanship of the interior and most of the car is done in England by British Engineers. Even the head of design Rolls Royce is English. Do some research so u don't come out looking like a novice.

Samson Okoro my mother bought the new rx with all the options but the ride is way too harsh on rough pavement. I absolutely love the car but the suspension is really a let down.
@samsonokoro50367 жыл бұрын
Hockiet whoa, I haven't experienced that with previous Rx models, I have been in the 3rd gen and 4th Gen Rx. I haven't been in this new 5th Gen for 2016 though so i can't say much about the suspension but I'm surprised it was that harsh. I have the Es350 and the ride is supple on all road conditions, very comfortable and soft I.e. floating like. Although most Lexus sedans especially the Es and Ls have supple rides cause they are made for luxury and comfort unlike the Is and Gs that have a stiffer ride and handling for that sports feel.
@Hockiet7 жыл бұрын
Samson Okoro well i drove the gs and i can say it is much, much softer than our rx. Both our rx and the gs i drove had the adaptive variable suspension. Neither are fsport models and the gs ran on much thinner sidewalls.

Why don't they ask people who live with these everyday.I own RX450H,and I can tell u i am still struggling to understand what difficult about it. Or is it maybe because the innovation was not brought by the germans? Maybe they must start building their own cars and let's see how good they can be.

Nice car, but it's clearly designed for American markets, hence no diesel, beeping sounds etc. The biggest problem I have with it is that you either have to go for 2-litre front-wheel drive (not what you expect in this class) or the hybrid system which is getting outdated, this 3.5L V6 + electric motors unit has been used for quite a while and is slow and not as efficient compared to modern hybrids (although 44mpg is quite good to be honest, didn't expect that)
