For me I calculate there’s a 2000-3000 saving per year the rav4 has over my current car. This includes savings in fuel, insurance and servicing. Over an ownership period of 7 years this’ll pay for the changeover plus I’ll be ahead with the residual value of the vehicle. So saving money is one reason people get this car. The product is compelling because I can’t remember the last time the “performance” model was hybrid. From standstill the instant torque from the electric engine makes the car “feel” pretty quick. Finally this is the best selling vehicle in the US (excluding trucks). This SUV outsells all of Mazda in the US. While you should take car reviews with a grain of salt, the market rarely lies.

I always enjoy your vids Mat, because you offer the feel of a car like no other reviewer. Like the tactile sensation of holding the door handle, for instance. Just an observation: in "Trail" mode, more power is sent to the rear wheel electric motors, to assist with uphill progress. In "Sport", more power goes to the rear to steady the car in low traction road conditions. Overall, the RAV4 Hybrid is the most economical, and probably the most long term reliable, family SUV on the market. The Mazda CX5 is more fun to drive, though, as is the Adventure version of the RAV4. The Suzuki Jimny is the best off road.

The 5.7 seconds 0-60 is also quite noticeable once you put your foot down, but for the average person you won't notice the difference between the driving modes. All in all a fun car, very spacious and good knee and head room, along with more than enough boot capacity. Fair note, the white colour will come off as fairly dirty after a few trips. Because they are more efficient especially on the motorway and they don't have a horrific drone box transmission and they are more reliable. As for the nonsense what nonsense?
@@joa8593 Oh you are referring to globalistic government conspiracy theory that aims to destroy the best form of transportation in the world. I'll pass the Diesel emission scandal conspiracy is a hoax spread by tyrannical governments trying to restrict personal freedom by slandering the best type of engines in the world.

My mom bought a 2021 XLE (in America) after a hit-and-run driver totaled her car and she loves it. 100% correct about it beeping and hollering no matter what you do, though. When I call her, I can hear it hollering away in the background for one reason or another, lol. She can't say enough about its safety features. Super important, considering why she lost the other car in the first place. She originally wanted a Honda CRV but fell in love with the RAV 4 at first drive.

Its not just a CVT, its an E-CVT which means its way more reliable and requires much less servicing than a conventional CVT. This car will last 250k miles +, its an SUV with a prius engine.

2019 Rav4 Trail lacks a soundproof pad under the hood, thus is loud inside the cab., Toyota is quiet about this.

The Tiguan boot is 520 litres, so its smaller. It might be bigger if you slide the seats forward but then nobody with legs can sit in the back!

I have seen many reviewers from different sites, but the way you review is completely genuine and add bit fun with carwow stick :) maybe this is the reason for most of the people watch carwow reviews reviewed by Mat.

That drilling sound when de-pressing the brake pedal is the electric brake actuator pumping brake fluid in to the system so that the brakes will work even when the engine is off. All Toyota & Lexus Hybrids make that sound.

It’s a great suv and Toyota back it up with a 5 yr warranty and a very good reliability record. What’s not to like.

I was really excited for the new RAV4 but I hate the square wheel arches and the infotainment system screen which looks like a 90s mini TV. Weird I actually prefer the look of the outgoing model...

@TukaSlave5 жыл бұрын
The outgoing model has an inferior 4WD system that will guarantee you will get stuck if you ever go down a muddy lane. The new car's system is much better.
