I’ve been listening for years now and it still touches me. Does anyone know what the Assyrian godess is singing about? A line, a summation or even a sentiment?

I'm glad you're enjoying the song! A famous Assyrian writer, the late Zakaria Givargis, wrote this song for Jermain Tamraz. She sings as Mother Assyria pouring her heart out in a lullaby to her beloved son, the embodiment of our nation's leadership. She laments his betrayal and implores him to have love for his people. She mentions the breastmilk she fed him turning sinful if he forsakes his people and threatens to curse him if he continues down the path of treason. A bit of background to this, Assyrians have survived a millennia of genocide since the fall of our empire in 612BC and in modern history, we have had some "leaders" that have sold us out to oppressive regimes for money at the expense of our people’s lives. The song advocates for her son to have integrity to help his nation survive as we are at the brink of extinction.

Sorry to answer you after 14 years. I don’t think so. Many great Assyrian singers such as Ms. Tamraz stopped or minimize their artistic actives after fleeing their fatherlands either Iran or Iraq Atra and move to western countries. Life is hard for new immigrants and all they focus is sustaining a life and survive. Music production is very expensive and time consuming, so unfortunately many singers became a tribute band or singer of their own past and became guest singers for events or wedding parties. Even if they were managed to write a song or two and make it an album in long run and produce it that sound and quality of songwriting was below average compare to golden era of Assyrian singers.
